Found an injured bird, couldn't believe that a place like Knoxwood existed. Very caring member of staff came and took the bird and I was reassured that the bird would be looked after and nursed back to good health. Please donate to this fantastic charitable organisation

This is a place that is not only a good cause but a good place to visit especially with children of junior school age who need to learn respect for nature in all its aspects. The annual August sale and open day is especially worth a visit.

An absolutely wonderful little place for a visit, a real hidden gem. Carrying out some wonderful work with injured and misplaced wildlife.Don't forget to say hi to Dawson!

Jobseekers can volunteer here. And they spend a whole solid five hours outside in 30 degrees. It is not mandatory but volunteered. You would think that Knotwood would be grateful but in fact they have an obnoxious attitude towards them. Telling them they are there to learn! Not aware they are talking to someone very capable who has 35 years contributions!1

It's not a zoo it's a sanctuary and rescue centre doing great work. If you visit please be considerate and be quite, especially the children. Don't forget to leave a donation. It is entirely funded by it's charitable income.

Had a wonderful time looking at all of their birds and animals. So much love there and everything well looked after. Going to their Open Day on 7th August 2016 too (Sunday). As I am a wheelchair user, was worried that I wouldn`t be able to see everything, but found that it was easy to get around and all so interesting. It is wonderful to see a place that is dedicated to the benefit of all of their animals and staff who give their all to this aim. I liked the hospital wing and the other areas dedicated to making the animals well again. Well done Knoxwood, we could do with more of you around our country.

We were brought a pigeon which we think was shot by a pellet gun we looked after it at our Sanctuary for Cats but thought after 2 weeks it needed a safer home. We come across Knokwood Wildlife Rescue Centre by accident and emailed our enquiry. Emma a very nice person said via email " bring Joey". We arrived from Blackpool after a straight run via motorway . We missed Emma but found a wonderful man called George who even allow us to exercise our dog in a nearby field. Please note dogs are not allow on site but as we had a lead and long journey!! . Snoopy really enjoyed this and George made sure he had a bowl of water. We found some lovely Blackberries on the hedge row and beat a few jackdaws who had joined the queue . They really did love and need Donation inc towels and warm woolly throws for the animals. We loaded uo the car with same but if we had room would have brought some nice item they could sell in their Charity Shops or Ebay We decided to advertise in October items sand send a Cheque to them instead . Paper Towels ,Kitchen Towels Toilet Rolls are also welcome and Courier Services like the new I POST via their locker service is very cheap to post If you have saleable items for their Charity Shops they too would would be welcome. Bird seed and dog food also welcome for the badgers In fact all kind of food inc Biscuits is welcome. Donation boxes on site but no pressure to give. When you come as a visitor or client you will see and hopefully appreciate the enormous wonderful work that is been done here. We on the way back took a different route via Kendal and Windermere on the way back Ambleside in the Lakes for a lovely fish and chips supper before joining the motorway . What a treat all round Thanks George for the real wonderful work you do Truly a wonderful place to visit where Animals are truly looked after. We did not see any Admission Fee but a dig into your Wallet would be very welcome Do give yourself and early start as they close to visitors at 3 pm but lots of places of interest on the way Gretna Green is only a few miles over the Border if you really cant wait for a Shotgun Wedding !! Knoxwood is a truly amazing place, with a huge number of animals all living together happily and healthily. George is a wonderful man who clearly cares enormously about the animals and they well being. The Knoxwood staff have been a huge help to me and my partner, not only when we have brought injured animals to them, but also when calling them up all hours of the day and night for advice. Please support them all you can! The world needs more places like this. Thank you to George and the whole Knoxwood team!

Knoxwood is a wonderful rescue and sanctuary that puts the needs of the animals in it's care first. It is not a tourist attraction but does welcome visitors on limited days to see the amazing work they do.I feel extremely privileged to have met George and his family today and see first hand the kindness and devotion shown to all the animals in their care both releasable and non releasable
