Great day today at the Silverstone Museum, made extra special by Penelope who managed to arrange our pit walk passes, thank you so much.

Interactive is a stretch. Unless you’re about 3 years old then you can turn knobs and flick switches which serve no purpose at all to an adult.
My beef with place is that their videos / interaction still mention Nelson Piquet.
The museum is Hamilton focused ( home track and world champ so obviously should be ) yet someone who calls Lewis what he has and is still mentioned on the interactive footage is shocking
Get this changed Silverstone

Please can someone tell me why this place is called interactive ? Unless turning a few knobs here and there and playing an 80’s style video game is under that remit ? It’s embarrassingly bad. This is what it would of looked like 30 years ago, a few cars, some very basic models of engines etc and a confused and meaningless cinematic experience at the start and finish. But somehow it’s £25 each !!!! Seriously, it’s THAT bad. In one month I could turn this into something FAR better, so why haven’t they ? It could be awesome for kids but forget that, they’ll be bored stiff. Sit in F1 cockpit experience ? Nope. Moving, sit down sim with fast lap experience ? Nope. Anything that resembles using car controls, at all ? Nope. Awful, ill thought out, over priced rubbish.

Fabulous from start to finish..
Wow..
Lots of parking..
The museum has lots to look at ..
Loads of interaction..
The staff are very well informed and really helpful..
We where go for a drink in the cafe
When a member of staff told us we could go outside. In the stands and wach some of the F3 going around. Which was a bonus..
You can go back in the museum again after..
You may think it a bit pricey..
But its well worth it ..👍👍👍

I went on a corporate retail training day so perhaps did not experience as much of the site as a regular visitor due to time constraints. I am not a fan of motor racing so was unsure of what to expect. It was fascinating! There is a lot of background history to the site as well as the history of the circuit and the most amazing vehicles. We also had a go in a test drive training simulator which was possibly the best five minutes of my life. There were a lot of cars on the track due to it being a drive your own car day and that was quite addictive to watch as well. The food was superb, the staff - especially Pete the volunteer (retired mechanic in case there is more than one Pete) - were amazing. The toilets were immaculate as well. If you fancy a replica car, their shop is the place to go.

Great fun. Lots to see. Very interactive. Talks through history of circuit. Excellent value for money. Bonus is good view of the race cricuit from the first floor. The optional extra race sim experience is expensive but great fun. The coffee in the cafe is very good too. Recommended.

Was a great experience. Got giving tickets as a Christmas present as I really like F1. Was better than I thought. As it goes right back to the world war. And you get the full history of the track from when I opened to how it is now.

Brilliant experience. I bought it due my boyfriend for Christmas as he is a big F1 fan. We both really enjoy it. The staff were knowledgeable and there was a lot to see and do. Lots about the history of Silverstone and F1.

Bought my husband tickets as he loves f1. But to be honest we both found it disappointing. Thought it would be bigger and have more information and tributes to some drivers such as senna and other greats. You could sit on a motorcycle and get into a older car. But most fans would love to get in some of the newer cars which every f1 would love to do. Unfortunately not allowed to get in any of the cars or bikes. So we left quite disappointed. Think a lot more could be done there and we did think it would be better.

We had a wonderful trip to this informative and engaging museum. My partner is the one interested in F1, so I wasn’t expecting to particularly enjoy it, but I found I loved it. Lots of history about the site, including the abbey, farm and RAF base, lots of science in relation to creating an F1 car (I learned a bit about how my car works) and human interest stories into how health and safety and medical facilities were improved. Plenty of cars and equipment on display. We also walked the small heritage trail, walking on an old part of the track and saw some test laps taking place. We spent 3.5 hours there in total.

All the staff were lovely and willing to chat. The cafe is a bit sparse, so we chose to go for a late lunch elsewhere, but it was fine for a cup of tea and the cakes looked nice (if a bit expensive). We did gift aid, which gives free entry in the next 12 months, and we are both keen on a return trip.
