If you're into real ale then this place will be heaven for you. I am, and it was. So many real ales on tap that I lost count. Sadly I was driving home from the Peak District to southern England so had to limit my intake. I can heartily recommend both "Mill Race" and "Bell Ringer" if you like golden/pale ales. Don't worry if you don't, they also have bitter and stout. The thing with in-house breweries is that you are guaranteed the freshest possible ales. We have used Towcester Mill Brewery as a convenient lunch/refreshment stop before on such journeys, and will continue to do so. It's conveniently situated very close to the A43 and only 6 miles from the M1. They even have a bottle shop if you want to take the experience home with you. Oh, and very friendly staff.

Organised a big party (70+) in their top floor function room - great facility with two large connected spaces, one with a self contained bar (absolutely first class service all night long - never any queuing).
Superb value for money to rent it out. We had a pig roast delivered and a cake of cheese so lots to eat - they don’t do food so free to organise your own catering. Some simple lights in bottles on tables and it looked great.
Beers great and full bar/wine available - everyone enjoyed it - including ourselves as the staff were super organised and friendly.

The brewery does, as you would expect, serve excellent beers.
It also has a fine range of gins. Sadly, it does not have a matching range of other spirits. Only two whiskies are available, Jack Daniel's and Famous Grouse. An Irish whiskey or a single malt Scotch would be reasonable .

Mill Race is the stand-out session beer. The Mill is everything you want in terms of a place to go and have drinks with friends. The older part of the building is a delight. Upstairs there are other rooms, in the older part of the Mill and on the other side. These are on the first and second floors. They often have music nights plus comedy shows. One musician is Craig. He is superb. When the weather suits, drinking outside is very pleasant. There are a number of tables and benches. You often see families outside with their dogs. As of yet I haven't seen a cat on a lead but there is a cat that follows his owner into the Mill.

Stopped here for a break rather than endure a service station.
Great location and gardens. Cracking beers and little shop. We stocked up on some stout, and had a cheese box and beer in the sunshine. Bliss.

Brewery with shop and tap room with plenty of space outside and upstairs to enjoy fresh, great tasting traditional beer brewed on site with a good range of styles and strengths. Try before you buy and plenty of non beer options.

Our 2nd visit here but not a good one. Popped in on an evening and made our way upstairs to order but one of the drinks tasted very chemically with the other being very sweet and more enjoyable but a strange aftertaste. Another table were discussing this also who came in after us and left before us.
We left after the drink and went home where we both became ill and ended up throwing up.
The first time we came it was more enjoyable and we sat outside in the sun (this was a few years ago) but this trip has made us feel that we will not return or recommend.

Towcester's jewel in the crown. By far the best place to be on a summer's day or of an evening. The beer is superb. Mill Race is a wonderful session ale and when on tap, First Hop is a great alternative. The staff are all gems. Very friendly. The location is also wonderful. Real ale and itchy pigs: perfick!

What a lovely bar and brewery. Really reasonably priced with a good selection. The beers aren’t too strong either. Great staff and service 10/10.
