I do love a car museum, and this one is well worth a visit. Staffed by volunteers, most of the machines are on loan from private owners, or have a connection to the local area. Great to wander through the sheds and check out the restored beauties, but the real treat (I think) is checking out the 'rough diamonds' out the back, they may look like rusting hulks of junk to some people, but I found them fascinating! Probably a museum for someone with more than a passing interest in vehicles, but I enjoyed it.

This museum has been created by enthusiasts keen to preserve local trucking history. On display is a wide selection of working and mostly still registered prime movers and lorries from the 1930’s to the late 1980’s.

This museum is worth a look for anyone interested in transport history. It features many local workhorses including one that clocked up more than 7 million km.

This display has a wide range of trucks, tractors and the stories of those who drove them. Run by volunteers and I thank them for there ongoing dedication. I was particularly interested in the Lanz bulldog tractor. My grandmother’s brother Alan Bruns built a copy of these tractors after WWII. The company was called Kelly and Lewis. Alan Bruns visited Germany in around 1938 and I assume he got plans or some association with Lanz. In 1949 Kelly & Lewis were making around 90 tractors a week using 2 shifts in Melbourne. I’d allow an hour if you are a truck lover, 30 minutes for an overview

Worth visiting while in Winton. The 2 men in our group loved this place. Lots of history and there are lots of trucks and machinery to look at. $5pp entry which is definitely worth it.

Only $5.00 per person. Great display for anyone connected to the transport industry or farming. There is a lot of hard work gone into the restoration of many old vehicles.

If you are into big trucks then this place is well worth looking at. Cheap to enter $5.00 per person, 2 areas under cover with lots of vehicles out the back awaiting restoration. The members are all volunteers and know there stuff.

Could not believe a town the size of Winton to have such a fantastic establishment.. Vehicles are wonderful. They gave so many out the back to restore as well. Shame they don't receive more assistance. A mere $5-00 entry.
