Wonderful museum, spent the best part of 2 hours wandering the 3 floors. Very reasonably priced - definitely worth more than £4.50 per adult in my opinion!

Very welcoming and friendly staff. Lots of great exhibits and gives you a great background into the local lifeboat history and also some of the impressive individuals who have contributed to it. Also a great advertisement for the RNLI. Well worth a visit

What a beautiful, interesting and well set out gem this place is! Although we've lived in Cromer since the 1980s Sheringham museums have never had a visit. So, with grandsons from France this was rectified. Although the top floor was temporarily closed, there was plenty to fill our time and comment on. A whiff of sadness recalling the now gone Scotter's fishmongers and dear Ron Wright [every cheerful and helpful behind the counter at Blyth & Wright's]. Wonderful volunteers who took time to explain things, exchange memories and amusing banter.
Amazing view from the tower - thankfully a clear day!

Came across this museum by chance and decided to go in. Well worth it. Much bigger on the inside than appears from outside. Plenty of exhibits which cover the lifeboats and the history of Sheringham. Interesting and well presented

Fascinating exhibits, ranging from the local history of its fishing community and its all important life boats, through to the marine science and ecology, then to the off-shore renewable energy initiatives (Sheringham Shoal wind farm).
This is undoubtedly one of the best ways to spend $6 in this town.

Interesting museum on several levels with old lifeboats, fossils and local history. Separate exhibition about the Sheringham Shoal wind farm. Good viewing tower looking over the coast - not so good for us on a misty day. Good interesting visit.

Beautiful place to visit. We found this by chance and our family of 6 enjoyed exploring.
The craftsmanship on the boats and the history was amazing.
We will definitely revisit on our next visit to Sherringham

Well, what can I say? Sheringham Museum is a petite, compact capsule of Sheringham's history which is bursting with information and helpful staff. We made this our first day out this year in the knowledge the Lifeboat Station is closed to the public due to Covid restrictions at present, and my son desperately wanting to see some Lifeboats.
We were greeted by two smiley members of staff, one of whom went on to give us some detailed information once inside the museum. We are actually staying at the Emery's old boat house, so it was rather wonderful to view the display about this and of course one of the boats (Enterprise) which was indeed built in the property we're staying in.
The children enjoyed the whole experience, as for everything an adult may have wanted to read, there was something to catch my children's eye too. I rather enjoyed the display about Olive Edis - marvelous female photographer who paved a glorious way for others.
One final and very important comment is with regard to the accessibility aspect of the museum. It may be small, but it's almost 100% wheelchair accessible (with the exception of the viewing tower) with specialist lifts and nothing is too much trouble. From my wheelchair user point of view, the museum has been exceptionally well thought out, so thank you!
One happy family!

I do apologise, unfortunately we do not allow dogs into the museum, with the exception of seeing-eye dogs. Sometimes the responses take a little while for Trip advisor to post so there was a time delay in our answering. For all up to date information do check out our website which is current.

Hello, many apologies as we tend to only manage to reply to direct postings of questions and reviews as opposed to this forum. Unfortunately we do not allow dogs on site, only seeing-eye or guide dogs. As another reviewer says we are more than happy to answer the telephone or email enquiries with such questions. I am sorry it took a while to receive the notification of your post via our email, and consequently a delay in replying. Our website has all current details on it, as well as our dog and mobility access etc.
