My son went as part of a group from his youth club.
It was his first time karting and he was nervous but really got into it.
Everyone got have a good amount of time racing.
The marshalls ensured everyone was well briefed and drove with respect.

Please don't visit this place. We went there last August, because of half price vouchers.
The karts weren't working properly from the start, and when one kept stopping, the mechanic came onto the track and told us to get out swearing and shouting in front of our 4 children. we told him it was the karts that were faulty, but he kept swearing. We were told by the receptionist that the lights had come on to stop, but at no time did any lights come on, in fact the receptionist and another person got into some karts and were racing around the track with us.
When we asked for a refund, which we paid in cash, we were told to complain to head office.
As we left, the mechanic was outside and continued with his swearing, the receptionist said she will sort him out.
When we made a formal complaint, it was rejected, because they said we were lying.
We asked to take this matter further, but was refused.
PLEASE DON'T VISIT, BECAUSE WHATEVER HAPPENS THEY WILL ONLY STAND BY THERE STAFF.
THERE KARTS ARE FAULTY, THERE UNIFORMS ARE RIPPED EVEN THOUGH IN THER FILM IT SAYS TO DO THE ZIP/BUTTONS UP, AND WE WERE TOLD ITS OK AND THERE HELMETS NEED DESMELLING

Bought this as anniversary gift. Did a 50 lap race with the boyfriend. It's easy to pick up, total work out for the arms as the steering wheel is stiff (a good idea as you might swerve all over the place). Good mix of couples in the race, so no 'boy racers'. Friendly atmosphere. Had a good time.

My Dad bought me the '80 Lap Go Karting Experience For 2 People' voucher from amazon (https://local.amazon.co.uk/Southeast-London/B00OTVQ3XE) as a Christmas present for me and my partner to enjoy, before my partner was due to leave the country on the 4th of January.
We tried to phone up and book the 'Go Karting' experience shortly after Christmas, however, even though there wasn't any mention anywhere either on the amazon site, or the Go Karting site (http://www.f1k.co.uk/), these vouchers were apparently 'only redeemable in the New Year'. My partner and I had to reschedule a few things around in order to make time to enjoy the gift before he left, which my dad felt very disappointed and embarrassed about.
At the center, there seemed to be very few staff at the center, and the few that were there did not seem to care at all about the quality of anyone's experience, or the service they were giving. We arrived 40 minutes early for our slot (it is recommended you come at least 30 minutes early), and apart from the brief contact from a member of staff at reception who told us to 'grab a suit from the back, and come back', we were waiting around for 45 minutes not really knowing what was going on, or what we were waiting for. When someone did come over (same staff member as before - 30 minutes after he said 'I'll be with you in 5'), the only instructions we were given were 'right means go, left means break, red lights are stop, orange lights are slow down, and green are go, you'll go in in a bit'.
After the experience, the 6 of us who happened to be racing together found ourselves by a podium of '1st, 2nd, 3rd' place, again - not knowing what to do. After one couple started heading to the changing rooms, the same staff member came out, told them to come back to the podium, lazily read out the times of our laps, told us that we could 'get a picture if we wanted', passed out the trophies, and went back inside.
Due to the service being so sloppy, our experience was very anti-climactic. Even basic instructions like 'We start recording your laps when the flag flies, and we show it again after your last lap' weren't given, and was left to us to figure out later. -This may seem obvious to some people - but as someone who has never seen F1 Go Karting ever, I had no idea what the flags meant.
This experience could be HUGELY improved just from a little enthusiasm and effort by any staff member. The actual Go Karting was good, but I can't imagine recommending it to anyone, and I certainly wouldn't do it again.
I very rarely give bad reviews, especially of 'thrill seeking experiences' as this kind of thing is right up my street, but I have to be honest, and hopefully it'll save anyone else out there from disappointment.
If you do want to do it - definitely go somewhere else.

Overall the track is one of the nicer venues, looks quite new etc. Went through a groupon voucher, so was good value for money. Main gripe was condition of equipment and karts. None of the overalls where sealable, all Velcro and not working, lockers in changing room not working. The karts are in differing states of condition, the kart I drove was so so slow. They are gas karts which are slower to begin with but mine was definitely underpowered as other karts where passing me at stupid speeds, I have done karting in the past so I know when something is not right. My friend also had a slow puncture, he pitted and changed and noticed his new kart was a lot quicker. A staff member did say the karts take a hammering from people treating them like dodgems which we did witness. Track is ok, quite bumpy in places. If they sorted the karts out it would be a great venue.

I visited F1K in Thurrock end of October. I've never been go karting before so this was my first time and I was a bit nervous! The manager was absolutely amazing and helped calmed my nerves, she was lovely! I signed in and put a race suit on then headed up for a briefing which was a video. Was a little long and had lots of information in which I wouldn't have been able to remember everything. But when the manager came back up to continue the briefing she went through everything In a simpler way and answered every question. She was very patient and made sure we all knew what we were doing and that we were comfortable too. We then headed downstairs and onto track. The marshals were brilliant too! I crashed a few times but have to say the marshals took the time to give me pointers and I improved a lot. All in all had an absolutely brilliant time and would defiantly recommend trying it even if you've never been before, will defiantly be going back! Thank you guys so much!

My 8 year old goes here fairly regularly after leaving Brentwood karting after they ruined his 8th Birthday after doing their Bambino course for 18 months & unfortunately A12 Karting got shut down.
The track is very twisty & sits at about 350m & it does challenge you. I race here with my 8 year old & 12 year old as well on occasions & found the karts & track rather fun to drive, though the 30 minutes session is long after being used to driving for 15-20 minutes intervals previously.
The staff here are all very nice & friendly & the karts are all in fairly good condition (the junior karts are petrols & the adult karts are LPG).
To date none of us have been waved off the track for infringements as others have said, the rules are there for a reason!
Whats lacking here is a "junior" karting opportunity as they do at Brentwood, Lakeside (the outside course run by the same idiots who own Brentwood & A12 used to do) in the evenings & have some sort of membership for that like all the others do, but from feedback from the staff on site it is the upper management that is for some reason not wanting to do this. Baring in mind this has the lower age limit available on track & is indoors so can be used in ALL weathers safely to not offer a membership is missing out on something ALL the other tracks offer/offered. I would bet good money by advertising this you will attract a LOT of the old drivers from Witham who have nowhere else to go & to perhaps look at reducing the costs for the time on track to encourage more people to come & spend money, not that its expensive as it isn't, 1/2 here is LESS than 15 minutes at Brentwood during the week.
I also think they should consider changing the track layout as well to encourage people to come back just as they did in Witham which made the racing fun & interesting, I can't believe it would be that difficult to achieve, especially on the "off" days.
The company also needs to advertise more because we found this via the internet by chance when Witham closed but they had been there for over a year!
We are lucky that all of us have our own race suits & helmets but would agree that the suits can be sweaty because of the lack of ventilation here (this does need to be addressed) & perhaps the staff could do a bit more to ensure they are kept as dry as possible BUT this is the SAME as any other indoor track we visited.
All in all a great little track but with a few tweeks from the owners & them NOT being afraid to change things a bit to accommodate the area this will become a really GREAT track!

Staff was good. Instruction given by a short movie. It was my first time. I enjoyed it. The problem was wen we Wr on the track. They kept stopping us for no reason. Wen there yellow light we had to slow down. I was turning a sharp corner. As soon as I saw ta yellow lights I did but I was chucked out for no reason. They are very hasty to do tat.
