A pleasant walk on a cool day, with the history of the boats and the nearby canal to keep you amused. The view of the River Severn is spectacular

I had high hope for this place but it was even better than I expected!! Parked in the VERY tight car park opposite the church and crossed over the bridge to walk along the canal. Eventually you get to the ships which are amazing! Some have disappeared under the undergrowth but most are visible and you can get right up to them. An excellent sight to see. We went on a very sunny day and all paths were very dry. A must see if you’re in the area or passing close by.

Stopped off at this historic little sight before my timed entry slot to Slimbridge. A great stroll along the riverside past the old wrecked boats. The notice boards were well presented and informative. Just a short stroll along the canal from my parking spot next to the church.

Few friends had been here for a walk before, so me and my husband thought we would have a look. Well it was sunny, raining, and snowing all in one day, so was a bit fresh on and off.It was dry under foot, but can be very muddy and slippery when raining or wet. Canal is lovely to walk along. It was nice to look at the ship's that had been ship wrecked there over the years. Nice place for a walk. Did not see a coffee shop, or toliets.

It’s ok for a Sunday afternoon but be warned, it’s very muddy at the moment and wellies are advised. Probably not the best for young children at the moment as it’s very cold along the canal. There were a few ships that I could see when I got passed all the mud. Probably a better attraction in the summer months

Some friends recommended this place to us as being of interested so on a dry Sunday afternoon we made the journey. The car park and the adjoining road was packed with cars so we realised this is a popular destination. Lots of people walking, most wearing wellies and lots of dogs and children! The path was quite muddy in places but not impassable and it was a lovely walk with the canal towpath on one side and the Severn on the other side. 2/3rds of the way along towards Sharpness you see the ruins of the old railway bridge. The hulks themselves are of interest but there is not a lot to see.

We arrived here just as the sun was going down on a cruise on the Gloucester and Sharpness canal. Our skipper gave us a very interesting talk about the area. As it was misty and the sun going down it was very haunting. Very interesting place which I had never heard of before but well worth a visit.

wow what a surprise, you have to come down here and take a look for yourselves. i have seen these types concrete barges before at walton on the naze. but there are also wooden ones here as well.

Not much to say really its makes for a nice afternoon walk with the dog, and interesting to read the name plates on the boats.

Expected to be the only people here - was wrong, it was heaving, parking a bit of a nightmare. Worth the effort though, very photogenic, decaying hulks from a time gone by. The local pub seems to have closed down a long time ago so don't expect to be able to buy a drink!
