Definitely dog friendly, not just dog tolerant. Beers are great as are the staff. Nice place for a pint!

Best Pub for real ale, customer service and a decent juke box!
Just off the high street, this is the best place for quality, well kept local beers after a day exploring the lovely Northumbrian coast!
Take your dogs along, as the staff are friendly so lovers and have a steady stream of dog treats to hand!
There a tree in the middle of the pub and a log burner too! What more could you need?!

We stopped here for pre-dinner drinks one night and liked it so much we went back again. Incredibly friendly team, very welcoming. Super dog friendly too - a shame ours wasn’t with us. Quirky local. Wished it was local to home!

Lovely pub with a great atmosphere and a good selection of well kept, local ales. The beers were lovely, and the fire kept the place nice and cosy. Good background music, nice and helpful staff and dog friendly - almost the perfect pub 👌

The Tanners Arms is a quirky, characterful, 19th century, dog friendly, food-free, pub which opens early afternoon. It serves locally brewed real ale.
Mostly open stone walls and flagstone flooring, with the quirkiness confirmed by the fact that there is a tree in the middle of the pub!
Our dog Glen was very warmly welcomed by the barman, as were we, but thankfully the barman only tickled Glen!

Found this little gem by chance wandering around the old streets of Alnwick.
A proper, cosy little real ale pub with a good selection of proper beers! Friendly landlord who is more than willing to advise on the beers.
Nice fire going in the pub adding to the atmosphere. Dog friendly, with doggy treats given by the kind landlord. A nice and interesting playlist going in the background that was never too loud that it stifled conversation.
Just the perfect little pub for fine ales!

Just spent 4 days across new year in Alnwick and discovering The Tanners Arms was a highlight. Our digs were next door to this special pub which serves a high quality selection of local real ales. The atmosphere was always convivial and we were made to feel welcome at all times. Great juke box too. One of the best boozers I’ve ever visited.

I am glad there isn't a Tanner's Arms near my home as I would soon be an alcoholic
Fantastic pub great landlord and the atmosphere and the locals was very friendly
The beers are top class really well kept real ales.
It's very dog friendly and no piped musac
Just a good old fashioned boozer. I will be back

Great beer and friendly staff/owner. Visited everyday we were there. Selection of beer suited all of the people in our party. They even had gluten free beer which we often find hard to find in pubs. The landlord was also very knowledgeable on beer.
