I went with Vallarta Adventures and I am glad I did! I loved the trip to the waterfall, we swam and then walked back down and across to the beach which was so relaxing drinking very well priced Coronas in the sun. Yelapa was very quaint and authentic. Yes there was some nasty areas with trash lying around but that's all part of it! 99% of it was beautiful and the locals didn't harass you at all to buy from them, which is unlike some other places. Recommend! Here's a tip... the iguana guy offers you a hold of the iguana then says "that'll be 100 pesos" 😅

We did snorkeling and waterfall tour at Yelapa via "VallartaBytheBoat" tours. It will take almost 2 hours on the boat to get to snorkeling spot, and you get snorkeling for 15 minutes 🤣. Super rushhhh snorkeling then after that they will take to yelapa Beach for your lunch. Don't believe the people there, they will tell you that the hike to waterfall will take 45 minutes to get there when in reality it's only 15-20 minutes walk. And the Falls is "meh" what a disappointment for us, and ohhh at the restaurant by the beach if you don't order extra aside from your lunch the waiters or waitress will get snotty and tell you that your not helping their economy. What a joke. Not a good spot for swimming too because boats are everywhere.

This town was very cute and charming. We stayed for four days and got to experience the town on foot and that was the best way to get to see all of the, fruit trees, animals, homes, beaches, winding roads and of course the gorgeous waterfall. The only thing that made us uncomfortable were some of the business owners/employees(not all) but a lot of them made us feel very unwanted and were pretty rude even though we made sure to tip, be respectful, and be as kind as we possibly could. Needless to say that by the end of our stay we were very ready and glad to be heading out.

Yelalpa usually gets a bad rap because if you book via a tour some people won’t find it worth the money at 100 bucks per person. The best way to visit yelalpa is los likely doing it via a water taxi from los muertos Beach. But if you have a decent sized group (4-6). Rent a panga for your family. I rented one for 6 hours for about 300 usd. It took us to los Arcos, Yelalpa and Las Animas. 3 tours for the price of 1. You dictate the times you want to stay. Yelalpa is no big deal in my opinion! Use Thelma Santana for your Panga rental.

Pretty water, gets deep really fast but kids still had fun. Lots of salespeople on the beach trying to sell goods but they’re kind of you say no politely. Gotta respect their hussle.

This was pretty pointless. Overhyped, better beach and prices, as well as food, and drinks in las animas. And shorter water taxi.
Yelapa is, as others have said, a bit of a trap. It’s a longer water taxi, mor expensive too, and once there, you’re there. Most taxis start leaving around 330pm.

Pretty unremarkable for the time/effort that it took to get there. Definitely skip the tour of the old town that the water taxi driver encourages. There is nothing to see & we felt like we were stuck on a tour we didn’t want. Additionally, the sand is coarse and there are very limited boat options back to Boca & PV.

Overrated!!! Tourist Trap! Do not waste your money spending time here unless you like being trapped for a half day and like your beach pebble vs sandy. The town is old and no historical importance and not worth it. The " waterfall" is,again, overrated. If you do feel you need to go, do not take the "old town" tour from your water taxi driver as this will delay your time on the pebble Beach by 40 minutes. Ugh! Stay in PV on the nice beaches. Did I say avoid this tourist trap???

We got off the water taxi on Yelapa Beach we’re quickly seated in beach chairs and outfitted with cocktails. Being offered everything from food to jewelry to sarapes and even an iguana, we sat in the same spot all day! The owner of Domingo’s, Hector, who also works at the airport travel stand treated us elk and made our day a blast! We will be back in 2024!

We visited Yelapa after looking at a few Youtube videos. It didn't disappoint, unfortunately time flies by very quickly! The water is kinda cold, so my wife didn't get in! If you go in June, it will be warm! We all ate at Marlins Restaurant and I recommend it! The waiters were friendly and attentive! Looking forward to going back!
