I wouldn't regard this attraction as being a blowhole, more a cave like structure where the waves passed through onto the rocks. Wave action was negligible, not even any spray, just minor spume. Enjoyed the short walk.

Not particularly impressive. Appreciate it’s geographically significant but probably not worth the trip in my opinion.

Like all blowholes, it is best at high tide. However as others have said, it is a stretch to call this natural phenomenon a blowhole. You able to walk around the 'cave' area but are restricted by the designated track and fences. You are better off going to Bicheno and seeing their Blowhole.

I didn't really think this was a blow hole. It was a largish natural cave with water coming through and breaking onto rocks. Still, it was a lovely natural sea formation which is definitely worth a look. It has lots of good areas where you can view the wave / splash action.
In geology, a blowhole or marine geyser is formed as sea caves grow landwards and upwards into vertical shafts and expose themselves towards the surface, which can result in hydraulic compression of sea water that is released through a port from the top of the blowhole.
Still, you have to be lucky to see a good spray due to the tide, swell conditions. You can get around to the blow hole going either way from the carpark.
Put it on you things to do list when down on the peninsula.

As with any natural attraction like this, the tide makes a difference whether you get great action, or little fanfare. Worth stopping by as its an easy visit

We stopped here on the way back from Port Arthur. It is worth a look but it would be worth checking tide times, in coming tide would be more spectacular.

Of all the terrific scenic stops around the Eaglehawk region this would be the dullest: my lad blurted out “is that it?”.
Reckon the tide, swell and winds might need to be just right for powerful water action. Better things to wow about nearby.

Stopped off here for a look on our way to Tasman Arch etc but it wasn't worth the look. No action on the day we went unfortunately

The carpark only allows 1h parking so I assume it might get busy at timrs. Spend about 15-20 minutes here it's plenty but a picnic probably isn't much of an option. Lovely views and some seating to have an ice cream or snack
