Great hike! The trail is moderately difficult but worth the trek! We enjoyed this hike and all the area stops. Take the one way path and hit all the spots!

Nice falls. A lot of steps so do not rush. Take your water bottle. Older people with health issues should not go down the steps.

We ended our first day hike at Cedar Falls. Started at Oldman’s Cave and took the BLUE TRAIL to it. Stopped at Whispering Cave just before we ended at Cedar Falls. This is a beautiful destination and if you can’t hike all the way from Oldman’s Cave - you can get to it very easily- by parking right by it. The hike was an incredible journey- 8 mile round trip that took about 5 hours. Highly recommend the hike if you are capable!! See my other reviews for o

It takes about 30 min. to visit this falls. Distance is maybe 1/2 mile. Stay longer to enjoy the view. Parking lot for about 40 cars, with an 8 car overflow lot on another road, but that is not nearly enough room, so people just park all over the grass, creating ruts and a mess. They have made this falls a one way in, and one way out. Both ways have lots of steps. The steps need some TLC, so people have just started paths on each side of the steps. The steps are too deep and it makes it more difficult to take the steps. There are really nice modern big restrooms at the entrance and a covered pavilion with tables for picnics. Some picnic tables scattered around the parking area. I was here years ago before the modern restrooms, I am glad they put these in. I was surprised by the number of people (families) visiting the falls. As usual, people leave their trash at the falls,, very disappointing. Most people were polite and thoughtful, some people go off trail where the signs say; restoration area- “do not enter”. This is a beautiful falls, but there are many steps down and many steps to get up, so consider that before you take this trip. If you want to avoid the crowds of people, come before 9:00 am and after 6:00 pm at night.

The parking is clearly marked with signage a few miles beforehand and leading up to the trailhead.

It had rained the night before and some areas were quite slick, wear good shoes!

We had our two dogs (golden retrievers) and they hiked the trail easily.

Beautiful payoff at the end of the short hike.

Another short hike and you are rewarded with a beautiful waterfall. Cedar Falls waterfall is the largest water output of all the waterfalls in Hocking Hills. There are at least a half dozen waterfalls in this area that are short and well worth the time to hike and view.

Very nice hike, we took the VERY long way- I believe the Red trail, that was a mistake LOL. After arriving to the falls, it was beautiful and enjoyable.

Second favorite hike in the area- old man cave is my personal favorite- you can get to these falls multiple ways from 3 miles one way to a shorter hike of about 1/2 a mile. The trail network is well-marked and easy to stay on the right path. This one is similar to old man cave- descend to the creek floor, see the water, hike back up and out. Much more open than old man cave. Still real pretty though. Would do this one a few more times as well.

My husband and I visited the park early on New Year's morning. It was raining and the parking lot only had one other vehicle in it. We were able to be alone at the falls for quite a bit of time. It was a nice quick loop from the parking lot and the falls were beautiful.
