Nice location that you should visit at low tide. If you get to the beach you have to go around a rock on the right side then you come to another beach where the Hug Point is, you can vulture continue to the next beach with beautiful rock formations.
Despite the fact that there was little waterfall I thought it was worth it.

This was a must-do stop on our way back from Cannon Beach. We were able to see Haystack Rock from the beach, from the other side of the Rock. (We went to Ecola State Park first). The beach is beautiful and is home to huge rock formations with shallow caves and even a small waterfall. The beach is huge and allowed us to walk for awhile and enjoy the ocean. Plenty of parking, restrooms and a short walk to the beach were appreciated.

I'm more of a quiet person who enjoys nature and my personal space. Hug Point was definitely a nice change from Cannon Beach by Haystack Rock. There were cool rock features along the shore, a little waterfall, and even a few "caves" to check out. It was very pretty and a much more peaceful time after being at Haystack Rock earlier. This is definitely worth the stop.

This is a sweet little cove with a fun little waterfall. Just be sure to get there a low tide or you won't be able to access the waterfall! If the water was warmer, you could definitely rinse off in the fresh water. Pretty cool.

We had so many "favorite" things we did during our time in Oregon, but genuinely Hug Point may have been the favorite. It was a total unplanned stop, we just overheard someone say it was really cool and decided to check it out.
Man, I am glad we did. If you have young kids, you absolutely have to come out to Hug Point. There are so many little waterfalls, tide pools, caves, swirly sand formations and more to explore. You could spend days here exploring all there is to see and not see it all. One of my absolute favorite stops along the Oregon Coast.

Made pit stop here while on my way to Crater Lake. I went early in the morning and had the entire place to myself. I thought it was a great place, glad I stopped off!

Obviously not the "beaches fault" lol but there are much better beaches. A lot of washed up gunk, garbage left behind and lots of bugs on the sand. There were 3, what I assume, locals walking around picking up trash. Oh and the hug point cove is all tagged up so that was lovely..... people are very disrespectful. It's sad.

This was a fun beach with great tidal pools to explore, a little waterfall and stream, and small sea caves.
The parking area is small - which is on the one hand nice as it limits how many people can be here so it's not crowded - but on the other hand may make it so you can't actually visit when you want.

Cool vast beach with views to die for. This was our least favorite of the Parks along the 101 but still worn the stop

We are planning a visit in July 2023 and looking at our planning, we'll get to Hug Point about 3 hours before high tide. Will we be able to explore (see waterfall, cave, walk on wagon trail) then, or, will the water be too high to access these things.

Hi, I’m hoping to visit Hug Point in October and am wondering if anyone knows how low the tide needs to be to see everything? For the day we’re planning to go, it looks like the lowest tide is 3.6 ft during the day and I’m wondering if that’s low enough to access the caves. Thanks for your help!
Skrevet 21. september 2019
As long as you go during low tide you should be able to see everything
Skrevet 23. september 2019
I would say it depends on the limited mobility. The road down to the beach is paved and a little steep. There are a few wooden steps to go down. Once you are down at the beach you can walk to the rocks and peak in a few of the tide pools.
Skrevet 27. april 2018
Is there a site to check to determine when the tides are low? TIA

Hey, are you allowed to start up a fire in the beach and cook/grill on it?
Skrevet 23. august 2016
I'm not sure the official answer but we did see some people that started a fire inside one of the caves.
