We arrived an hour before closing on a cold dreadful and very wet December day, 90 minutes before sunset and thought perhaps not worth a stop, but so glad we did! The gate staff were helpful and of course friendly. We were told as long as we make it thru the safari entry point before 4pm then we were welcome to take as long as we need to go thru the loop and no one would hurry us out. We had tweens who aren’t gonna be heartbroken for not being able to feed animals or ride the train, and didn’t mind spending only half an hour at the Village (small animal and reptile displays, and a nice flamingo pond). We also didn’t have time to check out the restaurant or the gift shop.

We were told they had just acquired two critically endangered Red Wolves (only 10 left in the wild!) but they were probably hiding in their den when we drove by.

Turns out 3;45 was a great time to visit coz we ran into lion feeding time!! There were no other cars around us so we watched the lions as long as we wanted and the staff were very generous with Q&A. These are probably the healthiest-looking lions I had seen in captivity - they were 9 years old and in their prime!

Dusk is also a good time to see herbivores as they were active and grazing. The yaks and the elks walked right up to our car.
The rain stopped and we were then treated with a rainbow and a gorgeous sunset. Beautiful grounds. Highly recommend - it’s really just a 5-10 minute detour off the I-5. Perfect activity for pandemic safety.

The Wildlife Safari was amazing as usual. Such an amazing thing to see many of these animals with all this space to just live and roam free. Highly recommend!

It was wonderful for me to see all these animals roaming freely outdoors and not stuck in cages. I hired a private dun buggy ride that enabled me to get a closer look at the various animals. Kids will love the opportunity to feed the various emu. I got to see herds of: elk, long horn sheep, emu, etc. I highly recommend.

We honestly thought Wildlife Safari was going to be a generic small zoo. But I have to say it definitely was not and our experience was amazing! All of the staff were so friendly and helpful and there was so much to see and do! This is a definite must if you’re in southern Oregon!

This was a cool experience on our drive South. We got to see a rhino running right up close, giraffes right on the road, bears, hippos and my kid got to ride a camel. Train wasn't open. Worth stopping.

Well thought out with solid animal viewing options. Reminded me of San Diego Zoo in a smaller way. Was impressed but not blown away with the driving portion. Was really impressed by the walking portion. What felt like it could be a throw-away intro to the gift shop was a genuine interesting experience of its own with extra bits around every corner.

We picked up a Groupon for admission. A bit of a pain at the gate but well worth the discount. Offered both for adults and children admission.

Awesume place for kids and family.
I went with my family and my kids really like it. He remembered every detail of it.
We went early morning and could beat most of the crowd.

And the money you spent there goes to animal welfare, so felt contented.
People we very nice. they are always very eager to tell about the animals.

Came on a Sunday evening at 5pm as a pitstop and respite of a long travel along the cost. Really great experience as we rode through the safari and witnessed animals in their quasi-natural habitat. To see these wonderful creatures so close and not feel rushed, with only a few cars that day, this was (for the price) well worth it! We bought our tickets online and entered quickly. Took about an hour to cruise the whole safari.

Visited last week and had a wonderful time. We arrived just after opening so we were the first car on the drive through safari. We spent about 2 hours on the drive stopping often to take photos and just enjoy watching the animals.

Of special interest were the cheetahs. The facility is known for its success in breeding these beautiful cats. It was fun to see so many in close view of our car.

After the drive through we had a very good lunch at their on site cafe then walked the village where many more animals are on view. We did the cheetah photo experience as well as the lion feeding. Both are extra cost options but well worth it. Your entrance ticket allows you to drive through a second time and we did that later in the day. The late afternoon drive allowed us to see animals that were not yet up and active in the morning.

All in all it was a fun experience and we recommend it. The self drive is easy, fun and of course safe. It was fun to have the emus and some hoof stock come up to your car looking for a handout (feed can be purchased on site t o feed them). Also nice to see hoof stock free ranging on the vast open areas. As expected, dangerous animals, lions, tigers, cheetahs, are not freely roaming the facility!

Give it a try, the site is beautiful, especially this time of year and everyone we encountered was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

It was a very relaxing time for my husband and me. We got to see animals we’d only seen on television before, such as lemurs. And that too, we got to see many animals up close! I was most excited to see the “wallaroos,” so named because they’re between the size of a wallaby and a kangaroo. 🦘 We also got to ride a camel which was a cool experience for us. 🐪
