My wife and I have now been to dozens of wineries/vineyards. Some are great, some so-so, some not so. This one was among the best.
You get to take a lovely drive through some pretty curvy country roads to find this location, where you may be served by a family member. Our sommelier, Ken Starr, was quick to point out that he was not Clinton's prosecutor--he was also quite a good conversationalist and of course expert in his wines and his family's history at this location.
They have a pretty extensive wine list with something to please all tastes. My wife and I gravitate toward the dry wines. Each customer gets 5 free samples, so we went for ten of the dry varieties and sipped from each others' glass. They all were very drinkable, not one of them would disappoint me in any way, but for me the stars of the show were the Sauvignon Blanc (also noted as a vintner's favorite), the Pinot Noir (reminiscent of a superb one I had in Vancouver Island) and the Merlot. Of course, your tastes may vary.
The grounds of the location are lovrely, and it would be an idea to come back in a warmer month when we could enjoy a glass or three in the gazebo. Note: unlike many vineyard wineries, they do not offer food.
They have a nice array of merchandise for sale. We do not feel olbiged to buy wine from any of these places we visit unless we find something we love; we walked out with six bottles and a souvenir glass. Bravo, Starr family!

Enjoyed our visit to Starr Hill. Very warm and welcoming. Good service and a very wide selection of wines. Something for everyone.
It is a beautiful venue. They can host small to medium groups inside and have a large outdoor area great for weddings or musical events.
We look forward to coming back.

I met Ken years ago and back then he was just really getting started on the expansion. I remember him telling me how he was almost completely off the grid, which is an amazing feat in its own right, but to run an amazing business and show that it can be done is another. Their wines are amongst the best I have had and I am not a wine drinker, but the wines from Starr are ones that I will drink. Now Starr Hill wine is seen almost everywhere in our area and beyond. A truly amazing feat for a local winery.
