Visited on a Sunday lunch time. Shops are quite small and with the pandemic we didn’t feel comfortable going in, even though it wasn’t overly busy. Not much to see and cafes very disappointing because they didn’t cater for gluten free diet and staff didn’t seem to care that there was no choice and whether we stayed for a drink or left.
Sadly won’t be returning any time soon.

A wonderful day as usual at the Antiques Centre and quirky small shops marred only by the service in the cafe at the far end of the site. The women were very brusque on the counter and obviously did not want to be there on a Sunday! There was no service with a smile and I felt we were just a nuisance to them. Such a shame in what could be a lovely place.

Arrived with some of my friends from our car club for a club gathering. I emailed and telephoned to let them know we were planning the event. Only on the day they claimed that they hadn't been informed. Cue security, who then prevented anyone with a car like ours from entering and parking. Spiteful and mean-spirited. There were only a few of us, and there was plenty of capacity. We won't be going there again.

Good place to visit with lots of small places to go and see what is for sale and how they are made. Also good food outlets there

So busy! Good to see the site being enjoyed. Plenty of free parking. Lovely lunch in Brambles Tearoom (check opening times as they closed at 3pm despite internet info saying 4). £5 each for guided tour by Lyndon from the Visitor Centre: very knowledgeable and engaging, responded well to questions. Just 2+3 in the tour party, took around 80-90 minutes. Lots to see in the antiques centre. Plenty of clean toilets. Coffee and cake outside The Pantry. Also walked in Elsecar Park, through village and along canal/rail route. Great place, would certainly return.

Elsecar Heritage Centre was a lovely experience and a great way to pass a few hours. The Antique Emporium particualrly worth a visit. We, thankfully, arrived early as it was very busy when we left. There was a pleasant park and lake over the road which was also very good.

My 150+ years old Grandfather Clock was taken to Bygone Times in Powerhouse Square - The Craft Corrider at Elsecar Heritage Centre for some of their TLC. It is wonderfull to have it back and ticking so sweetly in the corner of our lounge, rejuvenated and working so well. I can recommend them for repairs and servicing all your special clocks.

Taking your clocks and watches to Elsecar Heritage Centre for repair makes what could be a tedious journey into an interesting and enjoyable experience.

This afternoon I did an excellent guided walk of the centre. The tour was wonderful and I learned so much. Our guide was so enthusiastic about the subject and the 90 mins passed by so quickly. The history of Elsecar is fascinating and I discovered lots of interesting facts about the industrial and social history.

Lovely setting for an afternoon wander, with some interesting shops (antiques emporium is super!). Paul's natural foods store is also well worth a visit whilst here. Will definitely be back. Free parking is a bonus!

Very quiet afternoon, due to COVID .
Not many appear to be visiting , so some of the shops were shut .
However, the antique shops were open for browsing and the new health food shop is very good.
After a walk around the site , coffee in the Railway cafe was a godsend.
