What a fantastic find! A super museum which is bigger than it looks from the outside. Full of a wide range of interesting local objects all with good interpretation. Friendly and welcoming staff. Many thanks.

From the exhibits we could see that this building and surroundings had been occupied one way and another for many many centuries.
You need to be good at climbing stone spiral staircases!

This small museum is closed until April 2022 which was very unfortunate as it appeared to be quite interesting and one of the few things to see and do in the area.

A cold day found us at the Bayle museum, run as a charity so no charge for entry. The volunteer at the entrance was helpful and told us the best way to experience the museum.
The Bayle is on three floors and those who have mobility problems would find the climb difficult.it's a interesting museum with a good history of Bridlington.

A great little Museum, trelling the story of the building and of Bridlington itself, the spiral staircase is a little challenging even if you are relatively mobile. The staff were very helpful, definately worth a short walk from the new town.

Yes it was very interesting. The guides were very pleasant and helpful and full of information. The only drawback I found was it is not disability friendly. The narrow staircases are not good if you have walking disabilities. I had to miss part of the museum because of this. Other than that, what I did see was very interesting.

Extending over 3 floors of the two gate towers facing Bridlington Priory, the museum contains a fascinating collection of society in this East Yorkshire coastal tower. Free entry makes this a must see for those on a budget and for the discerning visitor. Child friendly exhibits.

The Bayle Gate is a Grade I listed Building and scheduled Ancient Monument housing the Bayle Museum. It's about a mile from Bridlington's sea front and is well worth the walk or taxi ride.
Entry is free and there was a very friendly gent on reception. The museum is housed in various rooms which are accessed by a spiral staircase on the ay up. Each room shows a different aspect of Bridlington's past.
The Bayle Museum’s collection is dedicated to the history of the town and local area. The main exhibition, spans the large top floor Courtroom, displays artefacts based on a theme chosen by the Lords Feoffees.
If you're interested in local history of the places you visit I can definitely recommend this museum.
