Disappointed, not angry!

Wasn’t expecting Alton Towers … but…

We only spent about an hour here but there wasn’t much to see..

The dig site is over grown and the comprehensive information is rain damaged and needs replacing - could do with a (scale) replica of the long house to make more interesting

The orchard; just wasn’t - looked like someone had been to a garden centre and quickly planted a few saplings

The high light of the visit should have been Arthur’s Stone - info suggests that it might be Arthur linked but only maybe!

Lady Falmouths garden is overgrown and not distinguishable from the remaining walking areas

The children’s playground looks good for under 8’s but would have limited appeal

To be fair, our 2 dogs had a good walk, but we could have gone anywhere for free to do that

‘Shop’ looked very dated and aimed at clawing some cash out of parents with young kids

‘Tea shop’ - didn’t stop to test this out as we had had enough! So won’t comment.

I wouldn’t say avoid but I’m sure they could do better with what they have and I’m sure you could use your time visiting somewhere else

Charming, unpretentious centre with some lovely scenery and a great little tea shop. Although we didn't stay for very long (about an hour) we thoroughly enjoyed the visit and had a very tasty cake in the shop. There was just enough information for it to interesting and informative without it being a chore to read. I would definitely recommend visiting here!

A Magical Place
sep. 2021
My 9 year old Grandson and I spent a very happy time at the Arthurian Centre today . It was not overcommercialised or sophisticated , just delightful . There was something for everyone from the Play area and Wishing Tree to the little Gardens and newly planted Orchard ( complete with medieval cider press ) .We enjoyed the Ancient Longhouse , Woodland walks , Paddling place ( very welcome on such a hot day !) and the amazing Tree house with Fairy doors . I was especially pleased to discover the Inscribed “Arthur “ stone which I have long wanted to see.
As a bonus we saw masses of butterflies in the Wildflower Garden and on the Buddleias

Very enjoyable

Rainy day, but we enjoyed it. A lovely, easy walk around and quite romantic. Take a cloth strip or wool on your way out to tie in the wishing tree. Anything King Arthur is always on our list. Very dog friendly and lovely cup of coffee. Dairy alternative and homemade cakes, gluten free and vegan option. Good local knowledge and very friendly.
Take you about an hour.

Proper Craggy Island charm. Some interesting things to see but don't expect Disney World (or even Blackgang Chine). You get to walk around someone's field and a dig site. Low on thrills but great to escape the hoards of people visiting Cornwall this Summer.

Will visit again!

An hour's distraction
jul. 2021
A nice walk in the countryside, with some minor achaeological and mythological distractions, along with a tiny museum and shop/ cafe. The whole thing could probably do with a bit of tlc, but pleasant enough and the curator seems a nice chap. Entrance fee is probably fair, not suitable for disabled or baby buggies imo, although some of the paths are supposed to be accessible for all.

Nice country walk

Nice walk through the countryside and woods but we are only giving 3 stars as the only thing King Arthur related is a stone at the end of the walk which they don't know if it even says king Arthur on it. Its not expensive to visit so if you have children it may be worth is as there seemed to be a nice play area for kids before the walk and then a den and a paddle area along the walk. There is an archeology dig but not king Arthur related.

Beautiful Nature Walk

A bit of King Arthur, a bit of Celtic history, a bit of archeology, bit of nature; mix it all together and you have a very pleasant experience. We went in mid May and whilst a trifle damp the nature walk was truly beautiful with gorgeous wild flowers everywhere. I was somewhat surprised to find that it was the highlight of my day.

Don't bother

A bit of a let down. Mother is a huge Arthurian fan, they really didn't have a lot of information. The grounds were overgrown, you also didn't have to go into the Arthurian center to see the Slaughterbridge stone, as it was accessible on a public path.

On the plus side, the dog had a good walk on our way out of town.

Really not worth the £5 and possibly something of a con! Very run-down and overgrown (to be fair this may be due to lack of staff from Covid), and not exactly picturesque either. It feels like someone has just said "Hey! There's tourists around here so let's chuck a few signs up about Arthur and charge people a fiver to walk around a field with some electricity pylons in it"

There IS an archeological site here featuring an ongoing dig of 750 year old farmstead which is certainly of interest. But there is no evidence of connection with the Arthur legend and certainly not worth a fiver, especially when you can see similar ruins for free all around Devon and Cornwall.
