What a lovely afternoon spent at Moyclare garden so very interesting . The host was so welcoming and the tea room very welcome . A good array of plants to buy was a bonus . Shall definitely go back .

This is a small garden with limited opening hours, but in may view is one of the best gardens in Cornwall for interest. We were met personally by the owner who gave us a history of the garden and was always around to answer any questions. Most of the garden is on the wild side, although there are some more formal areas. There are a wide variety of different plants and trees, and the garden would be of interest at any season.

beautiful ,trees and shrubs , the owener is always willing to share the history of the garden which is tucked away on the outskirts of the town ---not always easy to find ,but so worth a visit ---there are rare shrubs and in spring camellias are wonderful. oh yes the homemade cake is good

Moyclare does not get the attention it clearly diserves; maybe visitors are put off by the fact that it is only 1acre. But don't worry, there is plenty to see, mainly because the entire garden comprises little lanes and avenues where you can wander along looking at the plants, shrubs and trees. Every so often there are boards telling you what to see and also giving historical background to the area being viewed. With so few visitors, Elisabeth gave us a private tour, describing her involvement with the garden and it's contents. After the tour we went to the tea hut for an nice cuppa and Victoria sponge. For a mere £3.50 the garden is an absolute must for any gardener. Please visit and enjoy!

On 21 June we visited Moyclare Gardens, owned and run by Elizabeth Henslowe. Moyclare gardens was started by Mrs Henslowe's aunt and uncle in the early part of the 19th Century. Moira her aunt originally came from County Cork in Ireland. Moira and her husband purchased the house with a one acre piece of land and started to turn it into the beautiful garden it has become.

The garden is filled with all types of trees, shrubs and flowers that cover an all year round spectrum. My husband and I wondered through a garden in vibrant colours of red, blue, whites, yellows and pinks, with the scents of orange blossom, sweet peas and jasmine, it was intoxicating. We were watched on our travels by the cats, Daisy a tortoiseshell tabby, Zena, a black cat and a white and grey striped tiger of a cat who lazily strolled across the lawn.

The garden is a photographer's paradise, as everywhere you looked there was a photograph and wonderful vista's. My husband and I spent over two hours strolling round this lovely garden and talking to Mrs Henslowe, who had originally come from Birmingham.

We had afternoon tea in her lovely tea room. My husband and I had tea and coffee and large slices of Victoria Sponge made by Elizabeth herself, which was scrummy.

The garden is open 2.00 - 5.00 pm, Weekends and Bank Holiday Mondays, April to August.

The Fee for this garden is a modest £ 3.50, as at the time of writing this review.
