Absolutely amazing piece of architecture. I encourage people to go see it. It was a side trip for my husband and I when we decided to go visit the Tunkhannock Creek Viaduct (not far away, on Route 11). If you are coming from NY on Route 11 South, you can see Tunkhannock Creek Viaduct, plus its "Little Brother" the Martin's Creek Viaduct, and then take a side trip to see the Starrucca Viaduct. ALL are amazing!

Like the Tunkhannock Creek Viaduct in Nicholson a half hours drive southwest, this viaduct is a beaut. In contrast to the concrete of the later era, this is made up of stones. A few houses sit underneath the arches, giving a unique feel to this viaduct. It's really out of the way, and not near a god damn thing but it's worth a trip if you have a beautiful day to take a drive.

Its pretty amazing to see a structure like this almost in the middle of nowhere. As a civil engineer it is impressive and gives credence to the saying "They don't build things like they use to !"

You dont have to be a rail fan to appreciate this place. nestled in a quaint PA town . It has a small place to park on a side street. Folks live all around the trestle so I was especially mindful of this. Beautiful workmanship that has stood the test of time.

Beautiful old railroad bridge that's worth checking out. Not as massive as Tunkannock bridge in Nicholson but the stone makes it very appealing. The stream below gives it a lot of character and charm. Hard to get a good look at the entire structure especially with the trees and leaves.

All right, maybe not quite 175 but this stone bridge was built and opened to carry the Erie RR across it in 1847 and did not get concrete shot into its cracks and crevices until the 1950's. It is a landmark designated by the Civil Engineers and on the Historic Register...see the plaques on the bridge under the west arch accomodating Starrucca Creek Road. Also go to the east end on Tannery and Depot streets and stop at Luciana Park and see the sign installed by the D&H Rail Trail Committee in 2016 depicting the history of the bridge, thumbnail sketches of the Erie RR which built the bridge and the Delaware and Hudson RR which traveled under the east arch. Today the D&H is gone and the New York Susquehanna and Western RR operates one train a day, usually after dark and before dawn, over the top. But the beauty and marvel of this stone monument to man's industrial revolution has to be seen. A picnic at Luciana Park with the family is a great way to see and enjoy this stone wonder.

It is very impressive and worth driving out of the way to see. A railroad bridge from many years ago. There is a small picnic area.

This is a stone viaduct built in the 1860's I don't believe that it is used anymore but you can see the great structure. It is not in Starrucca but in Lanesboro, PA. which is 9 miles further.
