If you’re in the area, it’s not very expensive and it is neat. It certainly caters to families, and was pretty busy when I was there. Tour groups are small. It is a cool experience but certainly a tourist place. They have a small petting zoo that is cute as well.

The property has been sold to the PA Conservancy, but eventually the PA Fish and Boat Commission will hold the title to the land. The caverns has been converted into a bat habitat, but catch and release trout fishing is allowed on the property with a PA fishing license.

One of the older caverns that were cause for road trips long ago. Still an adventure and a fun excursion. Cool little gift shop. Spruce Creek runs by below and offers fishing too

I'm glad I had a chance to visit this cave in the summer of 2013. Some of the surfaces in this cave are different than any others I have seen. This cave is very close to Lincoln Caverns and Raystown Lake near south-central PA, but closing very soon.

We really wanted to make it to this cave as it is its last season doing public tours. Let me preface by saying we have been to many caves both in PA and other states and this was one of the least in our opinion. A lot of our distaste for this cavern was due to the indifference of the tour guide. He was very knowledgable but spent most of the tour complaining about all the things people did to ruin the cave. He just seemed very blasé about the tour, maybe because he is losing his job once the cave closes? It just felt rushed and for the price to go in the cave only spending 35 minutes on a tour felt ridiculous. Nice to have experienced it since it is closing, just wish it could have been with a different guide.

I was visiting family near the area, and I saw that they were closing after this year. I figured that I should go see it before they close, and It was a good experience.

We visited as a side trip on the way home from our primary vacation destination. We've been working our way through the caverns listed in the PA Caverns brochure that you'll find at the rest stops on I80. This year we visited Indian Caverns and Woodward Cave.

We were very glad we decided to do this one now, as the property has been sold and the last tours will be in October of this year. According to the guide it's been purchased by the state of PA, and will be used as a non-public bat habitat, in hopes of supporting bat communities in the wake of the white nose syndrome which decimated many of them in recent years.

I found the walking a bit challenging. I had worn sneakers, and wished I'd worn work boots instead, for better footing on the sometimes slippery clay. I wouldn't recommend the tour for anyone at all unsteady on their feet. Overall the guide was quite knowledgeable, particularly about the history of the cave and its use by the local native peoples (primarily for cold storage, and some ceremonial activity, not for full time residence). They displayed a small selection of the thousands of artifacts found in the cave over the years, but most have been sent off to museums at a couple of nearby colleges.

I was disheartened that there were no admonitions not to touch the cave walls, but it didn't appear that there was much growth happening, so perhaps there has already been so much damage done that they feel there's no point. The formations in general seemed less interesting than some other caves we've visited (Lincoln, Woodward), but we still enjoyed our visit. The most unique thing about this cave was the presence of some fluorescing minerals in our chamber. They have UV lights there to activate them, as natural daylight no longer filters down due to the solid door installed at the cave entrance.

Overall we're glad we visited while the opportunity was available, but it's not so visually interesting that we'd re-visit.

Wonderful, family-owned attraction that is in its final season. Open since 1929 (I think) and has been managed by the same family the whole time. Quaint tour, good history, about an hour for the whole schmear. Family sold the property to the State of PA and the entrance will be sealed with concrete so the interior can be used as a bat habitat.

We heard this is the last year they are operating so we decided to go see it. It was a very good tour. Some of the areas were a little tight and steep so if you are not very mobile, not the best choice but it was very interesting. The guide provided an entertaining narrative of the history of the cave. At $15 per person, it was pretty reasonable.

Indian Caverns was a nice walking cavern. Had a cool big room! Its about a 1 hour guided tour/walk through with some good formations and crystal clear water pools. Nice way to cool off.
