My family ( MM4) and I went to Myrtle Beach amongst other places for our chosen and selected family vacations- We go where we want when we want so we are blessed and will forever stay blessed and have traveled to safe, chosen places we decide - Again we go where we want and when we want and always have high quality experiences-I’m tired of the ignorant comments “people” have about where you go and how much you spend it’s called being super pathetic when they say stuff that makes no sense- they really hate themselves-

Rude Life Guard:
One of the female lifeguards in front of Coral Beach we encountered very rude. Showed no respect or kindness to visitors. My money won't be spent here in South Carolina again for sure.
Rude Beach Chair Rental Company:
Not sure why beach rental company even allowed to reserved the entire beach front? This is very immoral and should not be existed.
Final Verdict: FOR THOSE REASONS, I WILL NOT COME BACK! I take my money and spend it else where. Good luck with your life South Carolinian.

People were not allowed in the water more than knee deep for days although the weather was perfect and the waves were small. Reason, rip currents. Lifeguards were harassing people going up and down the beach constantly. Some people managed rarely to go deeper and swim for a few minutes until a lifeguard would show up again.
I did not notice anybody having trouble with any rip current.
Despite everything being calm it seemed strange not seeing people in the water.
Obviously many people's vacation was spoiled, including mine.
Shame on you Myrtle Beach for allowing lifeguards such unreasonable behavior. And Myrtle Beach + South Carolina you will not see me spending another cent in your state.

Nice stay at the Atlantica condo with a beachfront view- sleeps up to six. Several pools and close to the Boardwalk. Very clean condo - with all the amenities available.

I think if you go to Myrtle between Memorial Day and Labor Day, it is not very appealing. I will tell you the reason why. There are way too many out of control teenagers not supervised by their parents hanging out at resorts and commercial establishments. There are just too many tourists all in one area, which is the grand strand. There is too much emphasis on commercialism and less focus on what's really important, which is the beach itself. However, you could never call Myrtle Beach boring. I believe there's thousands of things to do. Most of them require money. I mean, even the average putt putt place is charging around $13 to $16 for 18 holes. The average golf course with a cart is around $100 for 18 holes. The average show is around $55 a ticket like the Alabama Theater or Legends or my favorite the Carolina Opry. I mean, you can even take gambling ship out of Little River. There is also an old-fashioned Mark Twain river boat out of barefoot. You can do a dinner cruise down the famous Waccamaw River. The average price of crab legs all you can eat buffet also $50. Resorts are nice, but they average around $300 a night during the prime tourist season, which is Memorial Day through Labor Day. So bring your money to Myrtle Beach. You are definitely going to need it! The average tourist with a family of two kids spends at least 2000 for the week on a place to stay at, which is usually beachfront. And at least 1,000 or more dollars on food and entertainment as well as souvenirs.

Many of our visitors think that Myrtle Beach is only attraction-filled Boardwalk area – but it is actually so much more! The Grand Strand, as the locals call it, is home to 14 communities spanning over 60 miles of coastline.

We had a great and affordable family vacation! The beaches were not too crowded, there were lots of family activities, and we found that our meals were relatively affordable. We will be back!

The beaches are still nice, BUT, if you're booking a trip, make sure you stay in a resort, or a community with night time security! Very Important! Crime rate and drugged out junkies are at an all time high down in this area! No issues with gated community, or patrolled facility. #2: Restaurant reviews! Read them. A lot of the fast food restaurants are horrible and ghetto! Be careful and carry! Better to have and not need than Need and NOT have! Be SAFE and enjoy family and friends.

Horry County sold beach front access to a umbrella company. If you rent a condo for Myrtle Beach you may not have access to beach front. Don’t go to the beach without checking with rental company. Just don’t go to Myrtle Beach. Money over tourist for Horry County.

Recommendation for beach gear alternative to the pricey chair service on the beach? Chair service seems to be very expensive and my family likes to be at the beach way past 5PM.

Would suggest Walmart. Many times we resold it to someone coming in the resort. however it is less expensive than renting at times

My family and I are considering visiting in December during holidays. We’re flying in or driving. We’re 16 hrs away, so it’ll be a pretty good drive. If we fly, would people recommend renting a car or is public transportation or Uber good enough? We’ll have two children with us (6 and 7 yo). Thanks in advance!

I would recommend a rental car. There are so many places you can go. At Market Place there is a beautiful playground called Savannah’s. We could not go in the summer because it was too hot. There is also a Children’s area inside a house at Market Place. I can’t think of the name. At Broadway at the beach there is Ripley’s Aquarium. At Barefoot Landing there are kids things to do as well. There are lots of mini golf courses to play at. In the long run a rental car would be your best option.

Hi there! My husband and I are looking at taking our toddler on a babymoon this summer. Does anyone have any recommendations on a reasonably priced, safe place to stay in Myrtle Beach? Does any place offer a package with meals included? We are looking to travel and not break the bank. Maybe someone has another vacation recommendation for safe, clean, fun beach places in the States. Any insight into traveling there would be wonderful! Thank you in advance! Hope it's not too generic of a question 🙂

You can swim in it but it is chilly. There were a lot of kids swimming and playing the water. I believe the water temps were around 60 degrees in April.

Where in North or South Myrtle Can you find a dive Motel that's actually kind of nice & definitely doesn't have bed bugs or too many other bugs and they don't allow pets. I used to stay at the Holiday Shores, but they are renovating it was my go-to establishment is not doing too well. Something a lot better than the Diplomat or the the famous sea Rider Motel.

oh boy i dont know how to answer this question! we DID stay at the holiday shores motel last late august and it was perfect for us. altho we didnt bring a pet with us i, personally am not opposed to folks that do bring trained pets. the room we had was clean, king bed, plenty of room in the living room area and just the 2 of us. it was very clean, outdated some, yes, but clean, no bugs, fridge, micro and stove. couldnt ask for anything more for the price. not sure what you mean by a dive motel? you certainly dont mean a DUMP? do You. This probably doesnt help but my opinion on our visit here.
