Bait and switch, bait and steal, or simply imcompetance at the reservation experience. Which is it? (Seaside Inn) OOPS! NOT WHERE IT IS LOCATED. It might as well have been in the everglades. See the attached requested ocean view.
This review is ONLY for my most recent visit. My previous visit 3 years ago was excellent.
Three years ago, my wife and I stayed at this resort. We stayed at the Bridgewater room 209. It was an excellent experience. We loved the pool, lazy river, hot tub and beach. We loved sitting on the balcony with the view of the ocean. After leaving, we looked forward to the next time we would be able to return. That happened this year.
In June, my wife called to make a reservation. We wanted to duplicate the experience. She did not remember the name of the building were in, but she specifically asked for something with an ocean view. She also asked for a King size bed and discussed how we loved the pool and lazy river. When we arrived here on Sunday, we ultimately found out that we have a room in the Seaside Inn. We had neither an ocean view or a King bed. See the attached photo for the view we had and we had two double beds, not King. OOPS!!!
The room / apartment itself was great. It had a full kitchen, living room, dining room and a nice bath. It also had an apartment size stacked washer / dryer which we found very useful.
When saw the word seaside in the very limited confirmation email, we assumed that it was descriptive and that it was physically seaside. OOPS!!! It was the name of the building and not descriptive. IT WAS NOT SEASIDE. This is very deceiving. It is an inappropriate name for a place that was stuck in the far corner of the property up against the trees. See the wonderful view from our balcony attached. Isn't it great?
When we realized that we were not in Bridgewater, we were told that we would have access to the pool and lazy river at the building across from the parking lot from the building we were in. We found it disappointing, but not terrible. Again, we were really expecting to be closer to the ocean since that is one of the biggest reasons we selected this property. When we went to look at that pool area, it was closed. OOPS!!! We were then told that we could not access the pool area of the Bridgewater since it was reserved for Bridgewater guests exclusively.
This was getting worse by the second. I had a discussion with Brianna at the front desk. She just multiple times stated that it is what we reserved and she could not do anything about it. To me, that sounded pretty lame, especially since WE did not reserve it. WE reserved it over the phone with someone obviously without knowledge of the property. Brianna was either unable or unwilling to accommodate us. Which was it? Was she telling me that there are no oceanside rooms on this entire property that would be available for our time here in September? Her suggestion is that we / my wife reserved it that way and she could do nothing about it.
The problem here is the incompetent reservation person / system that did not enter correct information. Another part of the problem is that the confirmation email confirmed almost nothing more than our arrival and departure dates. The person who took our reservation seems to have ABSOLUTELY NO UNDERSTANDING of this property.
They need to hire a new reservation management company to manage the reservations. When discussing this issue with one of their employees, we were told that this is an ongoing issue that others have complained about. This is not an isolated incident.
Their reservation system SUCKS and they take no responsibility for it.
What I wrote above is basically what I sent in an email to the current property manager andrew.maffei@litchfieldbeach.com.
I received no response at all. This is terrible customer service.
I then sent an email to info@litchfieldbeach.com including the email to Andrew and once again received absolutely no response.
These emails were both in the first 2 days of our stay.
If you want to stay here, I highly recommend the property overall, but be ABSOLUTELY sure to make your reservation through someone ACTUALLY on the property who knows the details.
Don't get screwed like we did.
Andrew, if you are reading this, you had the opportunity to solve the problem, but did not even respond to emails. This NO STAR rating applies to this second visit and hopefully not our next visit next year or it will be our last.
Something in this reservation system failed DRAMATICALLY and it needs to be fixed, especially since we are not the only ones affected by this problem.
Please take the reins here and get to the bottom of the poor reservation system. It seriously needs to be repaired or replaced. Solve the problem. Don't apologize for the customer's bad experience.

Love this Course. The staff are ALWAYS friendly. No matter if it's the Bag guys, the inside staff or the Rangers. We have never ever been treated better by any course. We love the up tees, the fairways, the pace of play from not overloading the tee times. All in all, our favorite golf course. Thank you Litchfield.

We booked a three night stay at Bridgewater with another couple. Our purpose was to play golf at a nearby course in the morning and to use the resort facilities in the afternoons. We both had units in Bridgewater. I’ll state the positive first: the beach view and access. The beach is beautiful and access is easy. The pool looked nice but was unheated so quite cold. No one except kids were swimming. Now the negatives. The condos are old, tired and just plan warn-out. The air conditioners are the old, under the window units like a cheap hotel, cycling on and off all night with blasts of cold air. The condo layouts are odd with the door opening directly into the bedroom. There’s a galley kitchen and living area with balcony. Our unit had two toilet/sink rooms with a small room with a bath/shower in the middle. The furniture is old and the unit has no style nor ambience other than the great ocean view. The kitchen was sparsely and poorly equipped so don’t plan on cooking. There was no washer or dryer. The kitchen cabinets had been repeatedly painted and were chipping. There was no blanket for the bed. There were sheets and a disgusting bedspread. There were extra pillows but they were covered with a dust layer. There was a pullout couch and a Murphy bed! There were insufficient linens and towels for six people since that’s how many the condo could sleep. The place just felt nasty although it was fairly clean (not meticulously though.) One of the toilets broke during our stay. The entire building didn’t seem very clean. Beware of check-in as well. Masses of people descended at 4 pm where the line was very long and check-in took about 30 minutes. The staff was prepared with documents ready for expected guests but yet there was a lot of going from station to station to use different computers for parking passes, keys etc. A few guests were engaged in heated arguments with staff over room conditions, wrong rates, breakfast packages etc. This gave a very bad first impression. The other couple we were with checked out early, at 9pm even though they paid for the night. They just couldn’t stand other night. I would NEVER stay at another Litchfield property due to poor management and poor conditions of the accommodations.

Housekeeping was awful!!!! I listened to the supervisor spend more time talking about her husband being in a motorcycle gang LOUDLY! She was continuously on her phone talking about how she’s doing head of housekeeping and the assistant to GM because no one else can do their job. Loud conversations about how much she hates her boss, she can come and go as she pleases boasting about drunken fights. It no wonder the room wasn’t clean it’s completely disgusting but when your Head of housekeeping spends more time on her phone boosting her trashy partying to make her feel important rather then doing her job. When I complained I was told oh she’s just aloud mouth in charge of nothing. Litchfield use to be high class now it’s just trash!

If we are being honest, the unit known as Oystercatcher 11 is comparable to a Mexican prison. Everything in there is staged to look great, but when you peel back the curtain, nothing is right. From the dank, humid and undoubtedly mold ridden crevices in this unit to the leaky bathroom facilities, this place was an utter train wreck held together by tape and the aforementioned mold.
I cannot say much for the grounds around the place as we leave every day to golf and don’t want to return until we have to, but if they are a reflection of the travesty that is 11 Oystercatcher, it’s best to avoid the Litchfield Beach Golf Resort.
The only positive, staff is pleasant as they fight the barrage of complaints that undoubtedly plague them throughout their workday. Just read the reviews...clearly, management doesn’t care.

We have traveled quite a bit over the years and have always loved resorts/ condos and houses. We drove 12 hours to reach the check in, which went smoothly. However, as soon as we reached our bridge water condo I was absolutely floored at the quality. Upon entering, the hallway was so narrow that we had to turn sideways with our things. It was fairly warm and when we attempted to adjust the unit, it would not come on. It took quite a while to find the washer and driver which ended up being in the master bath, so small it will only wash 4 regular towels at a time. There were gnats in the bathroom and when I opened the closet, a spider greeted me. The kitchen chair is broken. The couch is broken and tilts all the way to one end. The bedroom balcony door would not close entirely and there is rust on the balcony walls. I honestly have not stayed in a hotel much less a resort of this disappointment since early college years. When I called the front desk, I was put on hold for 15 minutes and then told the manager would return my call. Over an hour later the same lady returned my call and said she was sorry we were disappointed but could move me midweek and bring by towels in the meantime.... we now leave in 2 days and they have not checked in on us once. We do have a beautiful view and great water pressure but I will never trust another condo rental without pictures again. I would say 2400 was ridiculous for this unit on the 5 th floor. My daughter is a 2020 graduate and has had so many disappointments this spring, I wanted her to have the perfect vacation and while we have lived our time in Pawleys island, not the service or unit! Be very wary!

I have stayed at Litchfield more than a dozen times, previously all with a group of 8 golfers. I have been extremely pleased with all aspects of our stays, especially the accommodations. I scheduled a week at Litchfield with my partner, and used the website to select a unit ( Bridgewater 407) based on the description and photos supplied on the website. This unit, without exception, was the most depressing and disgusting rentals I have ever experienced. This unit is devoid of even the slightest effort to welcome you or make one feel comfortable. From the hallway, one enters the unit into the bedroom.King size bed, as advertised. Mundane bedspread, a dresser, and a night table. Wall type AC unit, as one finds in Motel 6, that is 4 feet from the bed and loudly constantly recycles. ALL NIGHT LONG. The "kitchen " is not large enough to both prepare food and cook at the same time. The bathroom is small and drab. The living area has an uncomfortable couch, a coffee table, a TV stand, and a chair. Throughout this unit, all wall are white, there is absolutely nothing on the walls, no pictures, no decorating of any kind. Nothing in this unit other than the furniture. The TV's could not be accessed. There was no phone, no hair dryer, no alarm clock, couch pillows etc. The flooring is cheap vinyl that does not match between rooms.
I demanded another unit, and was ultimately successful in obtaining one to my satisfaction.Management was not very friendly in this negotiation, and at no time did I hear an apology. I suggested that someone who is concerned about the customer experience visit this unit and determine if this is a product they wish to promote. Stay away from unit 407 at Bridgewater.

This is a big place close to the beach and many golf courses. We stayed on the water for around $100 a night so a great value but not real fancy.. bout what you should expect. The Bridgewater has great views of the beach and is in pretty good shape.
