A Great Real Market Experience. Just loved it!
sep. 2021
What a great little market. First time we have visited the market and we were blown away by the atmosphere, friendliness, colours and range of goods for sale. The Market Manager was smashing. She chatted away to us about the history of the market whilst we admired the lovely central fountain, which is a masterpiece in its own right.

Bought some real Jersey tomatoes, ice creams and cakes on our visit. Some great butcher and fruit and veg displays, along with mixed goods and fresh coffee and lovely smelling bakery stalls. Just don’t miss this one, you will come out with a smile and some of the best foods on the island.

Well worth a visit

Hidden away behind the main shopping area, we found this gem - plenty of interesting stalls and shops. The deli has great tapas too.

Victorian gem
jul. 2021
No visit to St Helier is complete without popping into this perfectly preserved covered market. With its ornate wrought ironwork and central fountain, the market is a Victorian gem. It opened in 1882.

It's not just for show. Fruit and veg prices here are much cheaper than in the town centre supermarkets. The market is also home to several very tempting cafes, a stylish tapas restaurant - Casa Paco - and the excellent Vienna Bakery.

There are entrances on Halkett Place, Beresford Street, Hilgrove Street and the picturesque Market Street.

The market is closed all day on Sunday plus Thursday afternoons.

Jersey market experience
sep. 2020
The market is a nice treat with a good few things to buy and places to eat. Not a big size but there is a good variety of things, and very friendly people to talk to. The building is quaint and covered, in the center there is a water fountain. The place is bright and colorful. The food fruit and veg is very good and reasonably priced, and you can easily miss it. The market is in the center but not easily able to find.

Beautiful Victorian Covered Market
feb. 2020
This is a very attractive cast iron, Victorian market hall in the centre of St Helier, full of the usual market stalls selling fruit & veg, flowers, meat and so on, as well as a few specialist stands including a book shop, cafes, a haberdasher and an ironmonger. We visited a few times to pick up breakfast from one of the excellent bakery stalls and enjoyed wandering around admiring the building and the ornate fountain that acts as the hall's centrepiece. There is also a small, separate fish market on the other side of Beresford Street.
