My friend and I went to the book shop to buy some books to read and the staff were very good indeed and I loved the shop

The coffee and food at the Watermill is always excellent but we had to wait over 20 minutes for a coffee and scone to arrive. Highlight is the bookshop above -!outstanding.

As our first visit to Aberfeldy, a friend of ours highly Recommend a visit to the watermill, so pleased we did, lovely surroundings with excellent food and service . We then wandered upstairs to the bookshop and then up to the gallery where some of the local scenery’s paintings were on view.

This is a really special place to visit - a must when in the Aberfeldy area. The building itself is a beautifully converted oat mill, the upstairs bookshop is full of interesting books with a slight emphasis on local / national interest, art, nature and heritage. The café (be sure to book in advance) serves incredible, hearty soups with soft granary bread, amongst other things. The hazelnut mocha was one of the tastiest coffees I’ve ever had! Didn’t have room for cake but they all looked great. The staff were all lovely - there was even a talented acoustic guitarist casually playing some Bert Janschy stuff alongside Scottish standards. All in all, a really memorable experience and highly recommended!

We had a wonderful visit. The bookshop is lovely with well-curated book choices - both of local interest as well as books on almost every subject one could think of wanted to read about. Leave plenty of time to browse as it was an enjoyable experience. The cafe was lovely as well. Because of Covid-19, we had to wait a bit but it was worth it - yummy cakes and coffee/tea.

But so atmospheric, busy and cosy. Interestingly stocked bookshop on second floor. Authentic building well renovated with original features kept. Upper space well kitted out for art exhibits.

A lovely building well suited the being a bookshop and gallery. We also stayed for lunch in the cafe and although there were a lot of wasps around, the owners had taken time to lay out wasp traps to reduce the problem.

We visited the Watermill during our week's visit to the area and thoroughly enjoyed it. The bookshop is very well stocked with something for everyone on a variety of topics. The art gallery is on the upper floor and had a wonderful display of paintings and drawings for purchase or to feel comfortable just admiring. And the food was excellent in the cafe. We all had soups and they were delicious, nicely served with a chunk of delicious bread. Staff on all three floors were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend - it's so important to support independent places like this!

Stopped here to rest our legs during a walk in the area. This is the only place for lunch in Aberfeldy. Friendly staff, nice surroundings and good food. Afterwards browse the shop, there will definitely be something that catches your eye. Interesting to note that during our visit they were experiencing staffing issues and were therefore operating in a reduced capacity. Also they have had to introduce a timescale within which a table has to be vacated in order to cope with demand, totally understandable.
