Our check in was disappointing - most unfriendly welcome by lady in the pro shop. We have been up on the north east coast playing some of the Braid courses and have had a wonderful week - however Golspie as an ambassador for Scottish Golf I have to say you let yourself down in the whole check-in / welcome experience- sadly.
Golf was challenging and mostly good.
Young ladies in the bar were most welcoming and when my husband asked the young lady behind the bar to let the chef know the soup was amazing - she was so delighted as it was herself who had made it ! Genuinely pleased that we had commented - so different from our first impression in pro shop of 4 hours previous.

Just terrific!
I’ve had the chance to play here a few times before but always ignored it in favour of “bigger” names and grander reputations. That’s why I feel bad.
Golspie should NEVER be overlooked. It’s a sensational easy-walking combination of fun golf holes. It’s long and difficult enough to keep you focused, very well maintained and sits in a gorgeous spot right on the beach (in fact erosion is becoming a real problem).
For a while it leaves linksland behind and wanders into the Heather and Pines, throwing a couple of ponds in for good measure and challenging you in a different way for a moment. I suspect this put me off years ago as it wasn’t a “true” links. Well I’m stupid!! All I’ve done is miss out on several other visits and been denied more memories of shotmaking around this superb golf course.
We also found lovely staff in the both the shop and the clubhouse and a real sense of community.
It represents outstanding value for money and a pretty-much unbeatable cost vs experience blend.
Courses don’t have to be 7000yds to be worth playing.
Don’t ever overlook Golspie. Please.

From the opening tee shot on the par 5 first hole until the beastly 18th, this is a must play for anyone who enjoys links golf. Forget about your score for the first six holes and enjoy the seaside views. Turning inland on hole seven, you’ll think you are playing a parkland course as the links wind through trees and heather.
Hole number 14 draws you back toward the Clubhouse. Stop for a nip; you may need it before tackling the challenging finishing holes. Most memorable - the wind-swept par 3 16th with stunning views of Golspie Beach. When finished, enjoy a post round beer and more seaside views from the bar in the Clubhouse.

If you are within 100 miles, find a way to play here.... lightning greens, stunning views, mostly links with 4 or 5 magnificent heathland holes and a genuinely warm welcome too..... I'm deffo going back!

Simply an amazing golf course which should be on everybodies golf course radar. A bit of everything with lovely views and manicured fairways and greens. Very friendly, helpful local staff with a super atmosphere and delicious food. You will not be disappointed.

Golspie is in fine form this year. All in beautiful condition. Somebody clearly loves this pretty course with its unusual variation in style. This charming course is as tricky as it is pretty - we could not resist going back for a second game. The price of £50 for late afternoon play is entirely reasonable. Much better experience than the more expensive and well known Brora.

The Golspie course is a mixture of links and heathland and provides a good but fair challenge for golfers of all levels.
The welcome by the assistant in the Pro Shop was warm and friendly and she took time to answer any questions we had.
Despite it being early in the season the course was in excellent conditions with the greens running fast and true. There is a good variety of holes which maintains your interest throughout the round.
If you only have time to play one round of golf in Sutherland make sure it’s Golspie - it far surpasses it’s near neighbour Brora.

First time playing the course and we both loved it. Greens in tremendous condition, tees and fairways both excellent. Don't be fooled into thinking this is an easy Par 70, it most certainly isn't especially the final 3 holes. Will definitely be back

I have played Golspie for several years. It just gets better and better. The greens staff is doing a remarkable job, greens were perfect and fast. Course is tight. So bring your straight down the middle game. Be ready, holes 15 thru 18 are beasts. If you come to the Highlands, Golspie has to be on your list of places to play. Thanks for a great day.

From the warm welcome in the pro shop to the hospitable members in the bar afterwards this was a fantastic experience. I was invited to join two members for my round one of whom turned out to be the captain who is a real credit to the club. The course was in excellent condition with true and quick greens. The mixture of links and heathland is a pleasant surprise and I can't recall a hole I didn't enjoy. It's a real shame that visitors miss this out in favour of Dornoch and Brora. If you have the time you won't be disappointed and if you don't, skip Dornoch and play here instead for a fraction of the price and a more enjoyable time. To Jim & Besh thanks for the game and I will definitely be back.

No they don't, probably they wouldn't get much use, and cost of having them exceed ecconomics.
