Lots of natty things to check out inside this well located stone building. A friendly greeting and chit chat with the owner/manager. Was looking for a sticker to say we did the Bealach na Ba road but only a tea towel.

Visited The Coalshed when passing through Applecross and we were very impressed with the charming selection of gifts! The shop owner was so lovely and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here, would highly recommend and come back again! Thank you 😊

I really enjoyed visiting the coalshed. A great place to stop for a souvenir while visiting the beautiful Applecross or while passing through on the NC500!
I've read a few negative reviews on here regarding rude staffing during the pandemic; all I can say is my experience was the complete opposite! The lady who served me was exceptionally friendly, polite and informative. Perhaps this member of staff is no longer there, or maybe people should have just followed simple pandemic rules! Either ways, I highly recommend a visit - it's lovely 🙂

Wow the staff member in this shop was so rude to us. We entered the shop checking for anyone else(so as to abide by the 4 person rule outside on the blackboard)
We were wearing our masks, hand sanitizer on but this was not enough! Oh no as we shut the door -it was a very rainy windy day - immediately a voice barked at us from behind the counter ( with large plastic screen surrounding it) ‘DO NOT SHUT THE DOOR’ then ‘IF YOU WANT TOUCH ANYTHING YOU MUST WEAR PLASTIC GLOVES’
I know we are in Covid times but please ‘Be kind’ applies to you to. I can only assume this person is in the wrong job if they are so super rude to customers.
Needless to say we left and will not be returning.

Really lovely little shop with fabulous gifts and beautiful jewellery made by the owner. Friendly welcome and great advice on local things to see/do. Well worth a visit - although you may want to buy everything in there!

We have had a lovely stay in Applecross and found everyone very friendly snd welcoming - until we visited this shop and, similarly to the couple in a previous review, we found the lady who served us to be incredibly rude and unpleasant. Suffice to say we will be buying our gifts for family from the wonderful walled garden where the customer service was excellent.

Stopped in Applecross on the way to Torridon and found this fab gem! Chatted to the owner who was lovely. I wanted to buy a gift for my mum and picked a beautiful necklace (handmade by her) Was good to see all the Covid measures in place and I felt safe looking round. Can highly recommend this shop. I could have bought the lot! Thank you for the recommendations of places to visit too - that was really helpful. I'll be back next year!

We visited Applecross last year staying for a week's holiday. Booked last Oct to come back this year. We felt very lucky to be able to come again. Everyone lovely and very friendly as usual and all trying hard with all the Covid restrictions which we are us However......with one exception. On the way back from visiting the Applecross Gallery (brilliant!) with all the very good Covid safe signs, handwash etc and us wearing our masks we were on our way back when I asked my husband to stop at the Cowshed Gallery as I wanted to see if I could pick up a gift for a friend. We had called in last year and they had some nice gift type things in. As it was quarter to 5 I ran up to the gallery quickly and popped my head round the door to see if they were still open. I wasn't even inside the shop but at that moment quite rightly the lady made me aware I didn't have my mask on. In my rush I had left it in the car. Still on the doorstep I said oh yes of course sorry I've only just taken it off and left it in the car I'll go back and get it in a 'thank you for telling me, silly me' voice and said to her sorry yes I'll go and get it. Much to my amazement I then got a very very aggressive and rude tirade from this woman shouting "out, out" and various other comments shouted at me which was completely unnecessary. I realised my mistake in my rush and hadn't even actually walked into the shop!
As both my husband and I have been extra careful right through Covid looking after both my mother and my elderly neighbour with dementia I was really quite upset at this reaction when I wasn't even actually in the shop.
Needless to say I went back to our car but didn't go back to the shop. And never will be again. There are so many other ways this lady could have reminded me not to come into the shop without a mask and in my haste I had just forgotten to take it with me even though I had been wearing it in various other places all day.
Everyone is trying so hard including us and it's a shame this was such an upsetting experience which was so unnecessary.

Lovely wee gift shop but very expensive! Popped in for a wander but did not buy anything. Could see nothing relating to the NC500 which Applecross is a part off.
