My husband bought a £45 voucher for a treatment for my Mum as part of her Christmas as she is going through some ill health at the moment and thought this would help cheer her up. Due to the nature of her illness and pain, I called in before booking to ensure that the company were aware of this prior to the appointment, allowing her to acheive the full experience and also to ensure the staff were aware.
I called in shortly after Christmas, possibly early January. I was advised that "due to insurance purposes" the only treatment she would be allowed to receive was the foot scrub and massage, which was to the value of £35 and therefor she would have to spend money in the gift shop as well to utilise her voucher as remaining balance was non-transferrable. I booked the appointment (with a witness present) and put it in my diary. I was advised that since I was paying via a voucher I did not need to pay a deposit but that I should receive an email confirmation. Usually I am vigilant about these kind of details, but when we arrived for our scheduled appointment on Saturday 28th Jan at 11.30am, I had received no such evidentiary email.
When arriving at the desk with my mother and my sister, we were advised there was no appointment booked under her name. I thought this must have been an issue with the booking system and tried my name, then my husbands name as he booked the voucher, to no avail. Initially embarrased we had possibly noted down the wrong date, we asked for further checks, which only identified that there was no booking at all in the system with any of our names.
I advised the staff member that I had made the booking over the phone, deliberately to discuss my mums needs, but it appears we did not receive an email to confirm, so what could be done!? To be told that there was no availability at all to provide her any treatment, not even spa access, barely an apology just simply that the management were not in today and to email. Then the staff member questioned the nature of my mums disability (not discreetly) publicly, to then advise that she would have been able to receive other treatments including a scalp massage or facial (I did question this at original phone call booking), so this was very dissappointing to hear as this would have been preferable. Having travelled from Irvine and arranging transport / availability for this appointment, and since the intention was to give my mum a positive, luxurious and relaxing experience, the booking mistake and the way we were treated within the spa was extremely disheartening.
Furthermore, to travel to the spa from the front desk is a lengthy, windy corridor with multiple manual doors and stairs, which is not very able friendly. To then be ushered away with only an email (and a smirk - perhaps the staff member should receive some customer service training), was very poor and not what you would expect from an establishment of this size.
I did send an email the same day to the manager and the general information inbox, however 3 days later I have still received no response. I requested a full refund of the voucher as we are no longer comfortable attending the facility due to this experience, but no-one seems to be concerned about this as yet.

Absolutely out of this world service, every single member of staff was friendly, accommodating and so helpful! Nothing was too much of a trouble to them.
The hotel is beautiful! Immaculate, tastefully decorated and luxurious.
We had a funny night with the storm literally blowing the front doors off, but still staff were upbeat, on it and funny.
Definitely returning in the summer! 100% enjoyed our stay xx

A meal at the Rabbit.
I was really looking forward to this. It was very busy the night we went, as the waitress kept saying.
The meet and greet at the start wasn’t great, we were joining friends.
There was a bit of a rush on to choose the dishes, but the special wasn’t written down and when I asked the waitress she was a bit tetchy. I had no idea what the cost of the special was.
Two of us had soup, but no soup spoons were brought.
I had haggis Bon Bon as a starter, strangely served in a bowl with ? Yogurt hidden at the base of the bowl. If I never meet a dry haggis Bon Bon again it will be too soon.

I visited the Marine for a spa day this month, with my daughter. Our package was £330 for a two course light lunch in The Seal bar and 3 treatments each in the spa. Treatments are advertised as one 55min each and two 25min each as part of this package. We arrived at The Seal at 11:50. That was 10 mins earlier than we had booked in for lunch. We were seated quite quickly and brought our drinks promptly. However, things went downhill from there. My daughter asked for a starter and a main and asked for them to be brought out together so she could have her starter as a side with her main. The starter was brought out first and the main much later. I ordered a main and dessert. My daughter’s main was a burger, which she asked for plain (no relish or gherkins). It arrived loaded with relish and gherkins. Despite mentioning this to 3 separate members of staff at different times we just got an apology - no offer to even change it, never mind any recompense. She scraped what she could off of the burger and ate it without the bun as that was smothered in the relish etc. She did enjoy the chips.
My main was the tomato and mozzarella salad. This was delicious. However, after we had both finished our mains we sat for half an hour before anyone came back to take our plates away. When they did we were asked if we wanted anything else. I said that I had ordered a fruit salad when they took our orders. The waiter said they would sort that and they came back with it very quickly. When I began to eat it the fruit was warm (not intentionally). It had clearly been sitting out a long time waiting to be brought to me and had gone warm whilst it sat there. It wasn’t very nice because of this and so I left most of it. I think it would have been nice if it had been kept chilled. Overall, we were not impressed with the level of service in here (or lack thereof). The staff weren’t rude or anything but clearly need further training. We were in there for an hour and 44 mins just for 2 courses (and we were in a hurry to get to the spa so it’s not that we were dawdling!)
Upon arrival at the leisure suite we received a warm welcome and had someone talk us through the facilities available and where we needed to go for our treatments at 4 o’clock. The facilities in the leisure suite really were very good. The pool is great, although very shallow. The view in the pool room is stunning and the loungers are cute. The sauna and steam room are both great and the jacuzzi is a treat!
I had read that we needed to be in the spa lounge half an hour early for our therapist to come and speak to us about our treatments etc and anyone late for this will miss out on time for their treatment through fault of their own. Bea use of this we were there sitting there from 3:30 and no one came to collect us until 4:06. The only reason this bothered me is that I could have spent another half hour in the sauna or something rather than sit in the spa
lounge bored.
For my treatments, I had a hot stone massage, a scalp massage and foot treatment. The hot stones are amazing and the scalp massage was fabulous! The foot treatment was okay but only lasted 15 minutes, not the 25 advertised and was definitely not worth the £45 it costs for that individual treatment (had I not booked it as part of a package I would have been really unhappy about that!)
My daughter loved her treatments.
All my in all it was a mixed experience. I would definitely visit the spa again but not in a rush to visit for food any time soon. There are lots of other food establishments in Troon with much better service.

Yesterday my daughter and I spent a morning at the newly refurbed Marine Lawn hotel and spa. We did the spa deal which included a 2 course lunch…. The hotel is looking AMAZING! A real change from before . The staff were very attentive and we felt v spoiled as a spa experience should be! Facial was amazing. Pool and facilities v clean and modern. The food was great too. Amazing value and we truly felt like we had had a holiday! We will be back!!

Fantastic to see this landmark hotel brought back to it’s former glory
The refurbishment is spectacular
We had a delicious meal in wonderful surroundings and were looked after by an attentive waitress
If I had one small criticism it is totally constructive - the waiting staff were all delightful and very young but please up skill them on local knowledge
We ended up explaining to the European couple next to us why the bar and restaurant have the names they do. We also heard one member of staff tell them there was nothing to do in the area - having worked alongside Visit Scotland - I managed not to explode but waited until later , took time to establish if they had transport and once I had explained the delights of Troon and immediate locale pointed them in the direction of the Burns Museum and Burn Cottage and Culzean as starting points
But overall fantastic evening and we will return
Well done 👏

Not much parking, overrun by golf people (non residents) hogging the outside tables to the point where residents could not get an outside table to watch the sunset over Arron. Slowish service and breakfast served in the bar despite the lovely restaurant which was previously used. Room wasnt very clean.

I booked this hotel as a wedding anniversary weekend. Could not fault the hotel ,service , food or spa. I booked in for three nights in one of there suites as a dinner b and b package. I also ordered some bubbles and flowers for my wife for when we arrived.
Check in was smooth, very friendly and welcoming staff.
The room was clean, with terrific views across the golf course to the sea. The bottle of bubbly was sent to the room shortly after check in , along with wonderful flowers and some cakes.
We had dinner in the hotel for all three nights of the stay and found the food very tasty and wonderfully presented.
We used the spa at the hotel and we both had massages booked, again really nice facilities and massages were good and well priced. In fact my wife booked another massage for the Monday morning before we left.
We also booked a high tea to treat my Aunt and Uncle who stay at Troon. Again food was good and both my relatives loved the experience.
We found the staff at the hotel friendly and very helpful.
Overall a great stay and we will book here again.

Went for lunch for a second time in the Arran lounge as the first meal was so well cooked that I thought it must of been a one off. It wasn’t. Steak was cooked to perfection and the staff were very friendly and professional. A delight. Only minor point was the peppercorn sauce could have been made creamy, but personal opinion.

Do you wear your robes during lunch, some spa days this has been the case, or is lunch served in a separate area of the hotel?

Although I did see a couple in their robes who were having a spa lunch too, so I think it's personal preference.

Do they have gluten free lunch options with the spa deal thanks
Hi everyone
I am thinking about buying a voucher on amazon local for a spa day.
At the moment i am just planning on going myself but what would be the additional cost for someone just to use the pool and have the lunch whilst i get my treatments?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you!
