Gorgeous place at any time of day or night. If you're interested in geology also worth looking up the history of the landscape ;)

An absolutely stunning white sand beach with the most amazing sea views. The hike from the car park of the Aird Old Church Gallery takes between 45 minutes and an hour and is mostly uphill. We took our five year old after reading recommendations online however the trek was pretty tough on her! I wouldn’t recommend it for younger families unless the kids are used to hill walking or treks.

A peaceful beautiful sandy beach nestling in the rocks. It acts as a suntrap so was warm enough to dry off after my swim by lying on the rocks, even at 17;30. It takes about 45 minutes to walk here from the small car park at he end of the track and is steep in places, with a short scramble near the end,, but is well worth it. The water is crystal clear and velvety.

Peaceful, relaxing and with lots of boats to catch out for, you can spend hours of total enjoyment here. Pack a picnic, a chair and a rug and go, now!

We decided to visit based on some reviews and it was well worth the effort getting there. It’s about am45 minute walk on rugged paths with a bit of a climb towards the end over some easy rocks but manageable for any moderately fit person.
The beach itself is beautiful with golden sands and is very easy to walk on - no rocks or stones. The water is crystal clear and we were lucky with the sunshine which made the experience more worthwhile.
Parking is a bit of an issue with only around space for about 10-12 cars but if you get there early it’s not an issue

It took us about 40 minutes to walk to the beach. It is mainly on a uneven road then a rocky/boggy footpath - but the beach is lovely, quiet and worth the walk. We visited about 1pm and did take the last parking spot.

This isn’t too hard a walk. The day we went there were two families with under 5’s. They said it was a little bit of a struggle but it is really worth it. We had the beach to ourselves for about two hours but at it’s busiest there were less than ten people.

The car park has space for about 10 cars only. Go before 10.30am if you want a space.

The other reviews talk about it being a strenuous walk. For the most part it's a bit up and down apart from the last 1/4 mile to the beach or mile to the lighthouse. The last 1/4 can be more of scramble in parts but with a bottle of water and some decent walking shoes, this is a relatively simple walk for most people with a reasonable level of fitness. The beach is fabulous and as secluded as you'd expect depending on how packed the car park is when you set off...

Firstly a word of advice to those who are not as fit physically as they used to be - it a challenging walk. My phone app said the equivalent of 50 flights of stairs - so be prepared!

Once you have battled through ....the beach is simply beautiful and the water is very clear and great sand.

We arrived fairly early so there was only another couple around. From the volume of people we walked by on the way back to the car I imagine if you are looking for that perfect photo without people you need to get there before 10:00 - 10:30 and probably earlier in the height of summer.

One of those walks that you are pleased you have done for the views and also the sense of achievement.

Parked up at the little car park and started the long trail to Point of Sleat. We decided not to go to the harbour but the Sandy Bay. It’s a tough walk once you are off the track but the views are amazing. The water was so clear and the views over to the mainland are stunning. Could have sat there all day.
