doen! 2 a 2,5 uur naar boven.

I didn't take the "Tourist" route up which made it a longer and harder climb but the views along the route were worth it, be aware the the main path is deceptive, it sets off step but easy enough but when you get near the top it's a hard climb up rocks, you need to be fit and have decent footwear.

My partner and I travelled from Suffolk to climb Ben Arthur and thread the needle. This was an amazing experience and would highly recommend it to all. It was exceptionally hot over the Bank Holiday weekend in May so we started our climb at 5am. We arrived back at the car by 11.30. Steep climb but the views from the top were worth every drop of sweat and huff of breath. This was my first ever climb and I accomplished it! So you can too!!!

Great being out after lockdown - almost a party buzz across the mountains. Incredible views, challenging climb, I didn't go through the needle, but have every respect for those who did

An incredibly stunning walk but do not be fooled by it “not quite making Munro status” because it is quite a task for the untrained! Absolutely worth it but definitely start early to enjoy a long time at the summit. One false summit to tackle which is fairly close to the actual summit anyway! Views are absolutely indescribable (speaking as a total hill walking beginner) and path is well sign posted and in great condition (walked in Scottish winter too!)

Great hike in general, and good first hike to do with my partner who didn't have much experience with peaks. It's a nice steady ascent almost all the way and, assuming you have the conditions, the views are breathtaking.

Tough start, once past the trees it gets a bit easier. Take plenty of water and snacks. Tricky parts & some really steep parts toward the end. My kids (11&15) managed it really well and enjoyed it. Views at the top are amazing!!
Great family day out. Parking costly and you should go early to get a space. Enjoy 🚶♀️🚶

We are heading up in December (28th - 30th) with my in-laws (very fit 76 and 80 years old). We often walk hills and things (Gummer’s How in the Lakes etc) and I’m just wondering if this walk would be suitable for us at this time of year? Obviously, we can’t tell if there will be snow but we’d be bringing hiking poles with us anyway (my in-laws always do).
Any advice would be great 😊

Can't say for sure as I am in my 90's but I would say discretion is the keynote.
please can someone tell me how long this hill takes to climb up and then come down. I am of normal fitness but I do have a 9y old boy and 8y old boy . they ate pretty sporty but young . so please tell me how long it takes and will my boys be ok ?
thank you so much

Just check the weather and dress accordingly, no special equipment required
How long would you say the entire club would take? And do you think the unfit should give it a go as well or should they try something easier?
Thanks, Rohan

I wouldn't say it's a hard hill to climb, the start through the woodlands is the most difficult stage. There is a difficult accent which is steep and rocky but there also is an easy way up.

HI was thinking of going there for some hiking in late February. Is that ideal, or is it too difficult considering the season adn weather conditions?
thanks

I would say it is a bad time to go hiking at the moment as the hills are covered in snow
