Totally Surreal Experience
nov. 2021
A totally surreal experience that blew us away! Photos really don't do it justice, it's not until you visit yourself do you realize how amazing it is! We got some fab photos and can't wait to visit again!

Its free, the views are spectacular encompassing much of Snowdonia, Isle of Man and Lake District, possibly Scotland.. and the mine has amazing colours .. and the history is truly amazing.. and people say its boring.. well go back to your soaps then !
this place should be world heritage along with great orme mines down coast.

Highlight of the Anglesey Holiday - i've waited 20 years to visit!

Parys Mountain was the highlight of the Anglesey Holiday - i've waited 20 years to visit!
Stunning post industrial waste landscape - now full of walking trails through this strange contaminated land.
Great views of the old workings.
Lots to explore and see.
Small free car park and easy to find.

Difficult to follow
okt. 2021 • Par
Very poor signage or any clue to how long the trail is. We tried following it and the path seemed to be getting narrower and steeper with no idea whatsoever how much further we had to go till the end. We became a bit concerned. I d say just go to the viewpoint and no further. The view is amazing. Apparently there is a board showing the routes in the car park but it's not obvious, we didn't spot it.

Stunning landscape
okt. 2021 • Venner
We'd never heard of this place before visiting Amlwch this weekend and couldn't believe what a hidden gem this is. The earth and landscape are a stunning array of colours and walking around is a real experience. Great sea views from the marker point near the tower - you can see right around the bay.

Wonderful

A few metres into the ste and it becomes”otherworldly”The colours and contours of the site make the birds sounds and other noises a rich feed for the imaginations of any looking. for that stimulus while the variety of minerals not only provides the colours but also a history and educational resource..
There cannot be many places as interesting that are so little exploited

Beautiful scenery

A lovely walk and not too taxing. Car parking available . THe scenery is stunningly red in colour as a result of the copper mines in the past. Worth a visit.

Surely more could be made of this?

Surely more could be made of this?

I accept the history and importance behind this mine but sadly plenty of rubbish lying around including rubber tyres in a few of the water filled ditches and the usual dog poo filled bags, we saw on the walk from the Carpark

Loved walking the trail
aug. 2021
Don't miss a visit if in the area. It is a couple of miles from Amlwch and the post code took us straight to the free car park with also a couple of laybys if it is full, and it is free to enter. There is a board giving a map of the three trails, although there are various other paths as you walk around, but the trails are marked - we followed the green one which is 2.4 miles and it was wonderful to see all the various colours caused with the different mineral extractions. It looked great as well when we were there as there was such a lot of purple heather flowering. There are two shorter trails. Better not to wear sandals as the paths are very shingly, the stones might go under your toes!
