Really enjoyed the Night Vision show. It was awesome my 16 year old daughter really enjoyed it as well as myself. Of course most animals were asleep but the flamingos and the displays were all I needed. I highly recommend going.

My husband & I enjoy visiting zoos and seek them out whenever we travel; we have been to many—small, medium, and large in size. This one was a nice size and rather good. We enjoyed seeing the Grassmere Historic Home, whose docent was friendly and knowledgeable. The walkabout kangaroo area was nice, with a good number of female reds to see. There is a small but nice Peru habitat, but the Andean bear was not visible. Unseen World was a walk-through combination aquarium/herpetarium/aviary exhibit. Before we left, we caught a 20-minute Wild Works Animal Show, which was nicely narrated and featured several interesting animals and birds. Our timing was not right to catch any keeper talks, unfortunately.

We found lots of animals off-display; it was not very cold the day we visited (early April) and we wished the animals that were described as being “indoors” were still available for viewing rather than just hidden away. We felt we walked a lot while encountering many empty habitats along the way. (There are some hilly walks here.) In general, this zoo could use more benches placed around the zoo (we saw way too few of them). We also missed having a map for our use (even a simplified one), since posted maps were scarce and signs not always very helpful. The location of the only eating places open was not good—not centrally located in case you wanted to eat while at the left side of the zoo.

All in all, we spent just under 4 hours here. We were glad to have visited here.

Went to see Night Visions and complete waste of money. It had some flamingos and a couple lights. Some light bulbs were out and it was opening night! Do not go and they should refund our money.

This zoo is nicely spread out but walkable. There are many interactive experiences. The kangaroos and the lorikeets were our favorites. N

I was kind of surprised at how much I loved the Nashville Zoo, and wish we could have spent more than four hours here for the day. We weren't able to do a couple of things, but thoroughly enjoyed the vast majority of the zoo. I think only the tiger habitat was closed off due to construction, although there were signs at other habitats that animals may be inside due to the weather (there were bad storms the night before). I was able to take a ton of amazing pictures, and the day was not too sunny and hot, at least!

It was incredibly crowded, but found we were able to still enjoy ourselves and see every animal available. The aviary and reptile house is awesome, and really enjoyed so many habitats. We did think it was weird that you had to pay an extra $4 for the DinoTrek, but these two adult dinosaur lovers thought it was well worth it. We didn't do any of the other activities and glad we didn't pre-pay for the adventure pass, as the lines were too long. The walking paths are mostly shaded and surrounded by beautiful trees and plants. It was very relaxing. I loved the bamboo forest!

I do wish parents would teach their kids not to scream at the animals, though. I was on the other side of several screaming kids, and it wasn't nice. One thing I do wish they had were vending machines that took cards, because we had no cash. There weren't any vendors open that we passed, and forgetting a water bottle was a huge mistake on our part. It was about 3 hours into our day before we were able to buy something to drink.

I'd like to go back when they finish their expansion, and be able to spend the entire day!

The Night Vision zoo experience offers embarrassingly little. There was only one animal exhibit open, the flamingoes. (It was beautiful and interesting.) I heard the snake house had been open, but it closed at 8:00 PM. The dinosaur trek (animated dinosaurs) was open. The exhibit was a little more interesting than during the day because of the spotlights. As for light exhibits, there were about four projected lighting “scenes” and a lot of “light sticks” vertically anchored to the bases of trees and bamboo. That is it.

There were some rides and attractions open for an extra fee. On top of A $25 PRICED ADULT TICKET!

After going to the Columbus, Ohio zoo lights last December for about the same price, I guess my expectations were pretty high.

We spent about an hour and a half there, 20 minutes of which was spent in a line waiting for coffee. We found out after ordering that they had to stop and clean the coffee maker. Right that second. They only found out after a long line of waiting people that the coffee maker needed to be cleaned. Embarrassing.

I am going to choose to feel good about this evening and chalk it up to helping the zoo with their “spring fundraiser.” But, really, come on Nashville Zoo. You can do better than this.

The crowd was huge, and yet, four adults and four children under twelve enjoyed the day. Walking among the kangaroos was a treat, especially seeing the new mama's joey moving around inside her pouch.

We missed out on some of the big animals because of renovations and veterinary testing.

Grassmere is a gem! The story of the family who made it possible for the zoo to exist is priceless.

When you have a nice hometown zoo and you visit others you once again appreciate the things you have. Reciprocal agreements that save money for the tickets is nice too. Other zoos in the area from past visits were nicer; seemed like a fair amount of construction going on around the facility. Consider this one in the future….

Went with my kids and they loved it. We especially loved the Lorikeet Landing (we paid a little extra to buy nectar and felt that it was worth it!). The kids also really enjoyed the Reptile/amphibian/aviary house. The Playground was also a hit. If we lived in Nashville, it would be worth getting a membership just for that!

And, if you have the chance, take advantage of the Keeper chats that the zoo does. We talked to the Parrot keeper and really enjoyed that.

We arrived just as the zoo opened on a monday morning and didn't see any school field trips. Just families.

My husband and I really enjoyed visiting. Our highlights was touring the old home at the Grassmere Historic Farm with Gabriel as our guide. I wouldn't recommend with small children, since it is 45 minutes around a lot of things they cant touch. The animal exhibits were very well done and the animals very active on this spring day. A lot of construction and many exhibits closed, so we didnt see as many animals as compared to other zoos.
