First time at a rodeo, part of our texas road trip from the UK. booked tickets months ago and glad i did as this was the last rodeo of the season and it had sold out.
The whole evening was fantastic and we had such a good night. We couldn’t get in the restaurant as i left it to late to book and we would of missed part if the rodeo had we waited but they have a food truck also so we ate from there which was nice. We got our seats, in a great view and saw everything that was going in. After the rodeo they have live music and all the locals dancing the texas two step. It was fantasic and i think the tickets were around $35 and well worth the money
You need a car to get here, as you do anywhere in texas,

Went to our first rodeo during our girls trip to San Antonio and had an amazing time. Loved the food/store options and the rodeo show was amazing. The staff was friendly and even gave us advice on where to order our Uber for the return trip to the hotel so we didnt have any issues. Its a bit of a way out from downtown San Antonio but well worth the trip!

I’ve taken guests out to Tejas Rodeo twice in the past month. Such a fun taste of Texas. Plan ahead for the steakhouse with a reservation. The food and service are fantastic! Family Friendly and reasonably priced.
The Rodeo show is entertaining and leaves you feeling… like an AMERICAN 🇺🇸
I love the prayer before it all begins, I love standing for my Flag.
Music after for those who want to dance… from 3-90+ the whole family is welcome.

Very well organised overall and we were given wristbands. Quite a small Rodeo overall, main arena for the Rodeo, a restaurant, a few stalls and then dancing and dining area but quite nicely done and quaint. Had a wander around, great for people watching as locals or tourists all in their cowboy hats and boots and double denim. The Rodeo itself was roughly 2 hours. They had various events, bull riding, barrel racing, lassooing, mutton busting for the kids. Lots of talking in between by the host, too much, and also advertising was a bit full on.
After the rodeo finished the live music started, nice country music and people were dancing.
Overall definitely an experience that was good to do as a tourist and the food from the stalls was good vs the quite pricey saloon restaurant.

Thank you so much for joining us! We are very grateful for your support and the time you took to share your experience. We're so happy to hear yall enjoyed your time here. It's an honor to be able to give you a taste of our western lifestyle. We're sorry you thought the announcer talked a lot. It is pretty typical at rodeos for the announcer(s) to talk between contestants competing as it sometimes takes bull riders a minute to get set on their bull and ready to ride or barrel racers and their horses a minute to get down the alley way. Instead of sitting and waiting in silence we like to talk about the contestants, their horses, their accomplishments, the history of the event, the specifics about the event such as what a good time in our arena is, the penalty for breaking a barrier or hitting a barrel, etc. We find most of our spectators enjoy learning more about the sport and our cowboys and cowgirls competing. We also like to shout out our sponsors as they play a big part in helping us to produce our rodeo. We wish you all the best and hope to see you again if you're ever in the area!

We stumbled on the rodeo while searching online for some fun/authentic Texan things to do while in San Antonio…and it ended up being our favorite part of the trip! The Tejas Rodeo Company put on a great show and provided an overall amazing experience - with fair prices, great food, and even some post-rodeo music and dancing! Bonus points for the fact that they hosted cowboy church prior to the show for whoever wanted to attend, and they opened the rodeo with a prayer…things like that are rare these days! I highly recommend a night at the rodeo for you and the family…if I ever find myself back in the San Antonio area, I will certainly be make the Saturday night rodeo a priority!

I loved it! It was fun cute and nice! The live band was awesome! I heard the steak restaurant was good we ate at their little walk up… it was ok… probably go to the steak house.

The rodeo itself was very exciting and entertaining to watch. I thought the ticket price to attend was reasonable. Watching people dance afterwards was fun and the band was great. The sponsor boards (although I understand they are necessary) are so distracting while watching the show because the screens are huge and sometimes the graphic is on a big white rectangle. Maybe they could be positioned somewhere else or graphics/ads improved so color is more dense and darker and not so much white. The facilities, rest rooms, etc were clean. The staff was very friendly. Two bottles of beer were over $20!! A little steep!!! That was disappointing. I’d still recommend it.

In regards to the beer, do you think that was for 3 or 4 beers or maybe $20 was including tip? As of now, 2 beers should not have cost you over $20. We hope to see yall again soon! If you have never experienced a rodeo, this is a must! It was a good show!! Fluid exchanges from event to event. Never a dull, sit around with nothing to watch moment!

I'm sorry Michelle, we did not use an Uber when we went so I'm not sure. The rodeo was quite a ways away from the Riverwalk (out in the country) so I can imagine it would be a rather costly trip too. WELL worth the trip though!

There are several hotels along Interstate 10 (I-10) into include a Best Western Plus which is likely the nearest to Tejas Rodeo. Tejas is roughly 10-15 miles from Boerne, Texas and 20-25 miles from San Antonio. Boerne is much more quaint, less traffic, plenty of restaurant choices. Taxi? I'm certain you can arrange it but it will be expensive. To be honest, I've never seen a taxi drop off or pick up guests from Tejas. By the way, the Tejas Steakhouse is first rate.

Check the Tejas Rodeo website. To the best of our knowledge it is open till the end of September. Enjoy, you'll love it. Come with an appetite. Tejas boasts an amazing steakhouse and out on the grounds a place to grab burgers, fries and beers.
