This is my third time attending a distillery tour and tasting. It’s a bit of a drive for us but so worth it. The tour is one of the more educational experiences I’ve had, and they are so welcoming. Definitely recommend if you are in the area looking for something a little different to do!

My wife and I were visiting the lake and staying at Tanglewood as we do every year. We were looking to do something different this year since none of the grandkids were with us, so the distillery tour sure looked like a winner when searched for things to do in Denison. All of the reviews were great so we will add to the reviews with our appreciation for the tour, the information, the party suggestions, and humor and so much more that we enjoyed at Ironroot. Of course, we bought some "samples" to take home and share. We do plan to come back with friends and family and look t to the growth and success of Ironroot and the Likarish family.

We really enjoyed the distillery tour and tasting. Very interesting and informative. Really appreciated learning about the varieties of corn and tasting that variation in the finished product. Also the smell is amazing inside the distillery and the barrel room.

IronRoot Republic combines a terrific entrepreneurial family story with extraordinary success. I live about 45 minutes from the distillery and have made the trek for the tour six times now. The tour is always fresh and interesting. I learn something new every time. The founding son's mom, Marsha, leads the tasting after you've learned about corns used, the distilling process and a visit to the barrel room. Dad helms the retail sales room. They are always grand hosts and Marsha invariably throws in a special extra tasting at the end of the normal six distilled spririts you experience. This is a treasure for the Metroplex and well worth the drive. I marvel that their passion and energy for their enterprise is ever the same. IronRoot won best bourbon in the world for their Harbinger in a rigorously judged competition in 2020, the first time a bourbon distilled outside of Kentucky has had the honor. They are master blenders creating exceptional spirits. Their bottles are hard to find at retail ever since their big win, but at the distillery, the selection is excellent. Enjoy the ride.

My fiancé and I have been to dozens of distilleries all over the county, including the bourbon trail in KY......Iron Root ranks as one of the best and was the most unique of any we have ever done. First, the owners of Iron Root perform the tour and tasting is amazing and shows their commitment to their customers. Their story of how Iron Root came to be is so cool. They are so accommodating and answer any and all question so genuine and of course the tasting is fantastic. It was 100% worth the 3- hour round trip drive from our home.

Excellent experience. Tour guides were the owners. Both were very knowledgeable and entertaining. Highly enjoyable. I definitely recommend visiting and tasting.

We had a really great tour. The team at Ironroot is passionate, and very informative. We could not have had a better time. Just excellent display of pride, and willingness to share knowledge. Highly recommend.

My wife and I participated in the tour on Saturday and the owners and staff of the business went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Prior to coming, my wife and I didn't have time to eat lunch. When we explained this to the woman who checked us in, she volunteered to walk next door to "Hucks Catfish" to pick up a to-go order for us and also allow us to eat at the table during the presentation (sampling whiskey on an empty stomach is never a good idea)! One of the owners of the business even hand-delivered our meal to our table which was greatly appreciated.
The history and passion for the business gave us an even better opinion of the outstanding whiskeys that they produce. I plan to bring my best friend from Indiana there the next time he comes to visit us in Dallas. He is a whiskey aficionado and will love the tour and learning more about the painstaking process they go through to produce one of the world's finest whiskeys.

We live about an hour away, and all we ever hear about is "Ironroot" and "Harbinger" but it's often difficult to even get a bottle. Since it's just an hour away, we signed up for the tour & tasting, mostly so that we could get a bottle (or more!).
I was blown away that this is still a family owned and run business. And the family are STILL the ones who do the tours and tastings. What a great business, what a great success story, what a great family!
Oh yeah, the spirits are pretty good, too (bourbon of course, but also gin & vodka!)
