I have never been here before today. I love learning history of different places and this museum did not disappoint. While its small and compact, a lot of information is packed into one place. I learned a lot about Frisco and its beginnings. This was a very pleasant experience.

Mr and Mrs Douglas Kormen. I am German and I have never seen a museum so historically incorrect. Pullman Porters were of Black African descent. White children did not pick cotton. This museum has ethnically cleansed what was a very prominent and historically a part of the South- the African slave. Fifth grade Texas history teaches more than this Museum of Frisco Heritage which is problematic. Blacks are not welcome here.

Looking at previous reviews I think most things have been said about the museum and these reviews seem to sum up our feelings to a T. We came out of the museum knowing so much more about the region and the history of the area. A little thing worthy of note, if you look into the shed through the gaps in the walls between the museum and Babes chicken next door you will see something large and red. It's in very good condition and over 70 years old. Now go and take a look.

Located on the Northside of Babes Chicken Dinner House. Local history museum consisting of early & mid-20th-century buildings with various period exhibits. For you rail fans, BNSF Railway recently completed installation of a switch in its mainline through Frisco to provide rail access to the museums new site on cotton gin Road.

We came here one day when we didn't have anything going on and wanted something to do. It was fun to learn about the history of the town we had moved to. Everything was well put together and easy to navigate.

A fun and informative way to learn about local history. Knowledgeable guides, interesting buildings. A view into a bygone era.

My wife and I just moved to Frisco, Texas and wanted to learn more about the city that has been rated #1 as well as the fastest growing city in the nation, a city that we personally have come to appreciate and enjoy. The Frisco Heritage Museum and the adjacent Center with its collection of historic buildings was just the place to go! We missed visiting the historic buildings (opportunity for a future review!) in part because we spent more time than expected in the Museum, a sign of the interest value of its exhibits. The Museum is located in a beautiful building that evokes images of late 19th century structures but includes all modern comforts. The two floors of exhibits are not text-heavy, but you can purchase texts in the rather large gift shop for additional information. There are numerous artifacts (some authentic, some replicas) that guide visitors through Frisco’s history in a truly engaging manner. The staff were very friendly, helpful and informative. A professional video provides details in the beautiful round room on the second floor, a room that also gives full view of the beautiful collection of historic buildings. There is also a replica on the second floor of an old movie house where visitors can watch amusing clips of silent movies that reflect a time when locomotives were the primary means of cross country travel. I have dreaded visits to museums of city histories, but the Frisco History Museum is one that I plan to revisit and take visiting family members. Go, enjoy and learn!

It has the potential to be a great museum. But the advertising and set up is a bit deceiving. I was under the impression there was history of Frisco (and there was), history of cotton (and there was), and a history of railroads (partially). The big display of engines and rolling stock was in a separate location and they wanted more money to see the trains. Between the Frisco Heritage Museum, Train Topia, and whatever else was there, they need to get it all under one umbrella and charge tickets accordingly. As it is, I missed out on what I went there for...to see the Big Boy!!
