Britain has no equivalent to this museum even though there were women doing the same job over here during WWII, so it was great to see these women being honoured appropriately in Texas. Thoroughly recommended attraction.

We owe a lot to the folks that served this country in WWII and this museum shows how thousands of women stepped forward in a time of need. When I walked into the exhibit, I was struck by the willingness of these ladies to step forward and lend a hand to the war effort. I found the displays informational and emotional. They made the best of their situations. I would like to return when I have a couple of hours to absorb more of what is displayed.

This museum has been on my "to do" list for years since I read a book about the WASP. We highly enjoyed this museum. We arrived shortly after it opened for the day, stayed all morning, left to have lunch at Allen's (see separate review), and returned for the rest of the afternoon. You feel like you truly got to know the women and understood the immense job of getting approval for this program. A fitting memorial for these brave women and the important work they did.

I walk in this place and I get so broken up I can’t stay. It’s the whole idea of WWII where every citizen gave everything they had to beat Hitler. These ladies were absolutely necessary and their only opportunity to become pilots. I believe they were the seeds of the entire women’s liberation movement after the war. The ladies took factory jobs to make enough materials then went back home and spent another shift raising the family. They did what had to be done but their contributions have never been adequately acknowledged.

The museum has a brand new building since I’ve seen them, but honestly they need more planes. I’m sure there are remaining examples that don’t fly if they can only get their hands on them. The most I can do is share some money and indeed I did that on the way out the door. This city is not a hotbed of tourism and I hope they can gather more artifacts and attention. Their city festival where they go out into the country and beat up on little creatures in their own habitat doesn’t help mankind and can only be labeled animal cruelty. I just hope some force bigger than them will sue it into history.

I don’t know how the city got it’s name but it’s guaranteed there’s no significant water anywhere near there and they barely have enough for humans to live there. There’s a lot more oil and gas there than water for sure. I hope that museum continues to grow as it took until the Carter administration to acknowledge their contribution. They have an un-restored 1938 Buick that I feel sure could be driven although it’s not clear what role that plays in teaching pilots. IT’s shape is typical for the era but that thing is still an enormous car. The nose is long enough to be an airliner and I’m sure it includes GM’s Fireball straight-8 engine but I didn’t look.

It’s worth a stop and I know they need money. Tom Brokaw called these folks, men and women, the greatest generation. It’s only because they earned it and it’s absolutely true.

So much information about a practically lost part of our American History. We had time before our appointment in Snyder to stop and visit. I am so glad that we did. There is so much information in a VERY nice environment to learn about some specially selected women during World War II.

It was a long time dream to visit Avenger Field where the WASPS trained during WWII, and it did not disappoint. Hanger 1 has actual footage of them, uniforms, photos, descriptions of their life , letters and really made them come alive. The staff are incredibly passionate and helpful, and were able to help my husband locate information on one of the WASPS. The second hanger has a set up of one of their “dorms” as well as various trainer planes and photographers and bios of those who died in the line of duty. Well worth a visit!

This is a museum well worth visiting and supporting. The displays are thoughtful and thorough. We had a personal tour with Ann, the curator, and it was excellent and interesting. Our mom was a WASP here in class 44-1 - it was meaningful to visit a place she was so fond of and learning more about her experiences. We’ll be back for the WASP Homecoming in April. Lisa Taylor is an excellent Executive Director, as well. Thank you so much.

Been here several times. Great museum about the women air force service pilots. They flew everything everywhere. Little known history of pioneers in aviation with which most people are unfamiliar. Heroes from the Greatest Generation.
