This was a second visit to the geyser. Whether the geyser is erupting or not, this is a beautiful place to visit, and truly appears to be somewhat of a hidden gem. If you like quiet solitude in nature this is it. There have only been two other cars both time we visited. If you're going specifically to see an eruption do some research prior and plan on spending some time there as the geyser has no regular schedule. The road starts off rough pavement and then is dirt. It seemed the road had been recently graded when we went because it really wasn't all that rough. The road has signs directing to geyser so pay attention.

This Geyser goes off every 8 hours (about 66% of the time). There is no way to tell when the last time it went off as this isn’t a well known tourist attraction. I arrived and the geyser was going off already and had been going off for 20 mins (from the people there said). It was only shooting about 3 ft in the air. The drive is partially paved and then turns to dirt. It’s right along the green river and a beautiful spot to stop in and see.

Not what I expected. Maybe I should have done more research, but, what I read, said that it usually erupts every eight hours, and, that, if you really want to see it erupting, you should just plan to camp there overnight. Which I was planning to do. I was pretty surprised to find when I arrived, that it was erupting. And it kept erupting, the whole time I was there (I changed my mind and did not spend the night). But it wasn't the 20-foot-high eruption I'd seen photos of, more like a small fountain. I've read since then, that they think some kind of geothermal activity has changed the geyser's activities because it doesn't shoot way up into the air, like it used to. The other surprise was how beautiful this place was. The flowstone is gorgeous. If you own a RV, like I do, be prepared for a SLOW drive out to the geyser from the Interstate - about six miles, on really crappy, washboard, 5 mph, roads. But that gives you plenty of time to see the scenery, which is definitely worth the drive. As is the geyser. Seems to me it would be a pretty simple thing to put up a chalkboard type sign in the area, that tells people when it last erupted. If the weather had been better (a storm was on its way) I would have camped overnight. It looked like it would be a wonderful place to camp, right by the Green River.

Very pretty rock but no way to know when the last eruption was or when to expect the next one. We tried to find any info on eruptions to know how long to wait or when to come back and there was nothing.

The geyser doesn't go off very often. We were there about 45 minutes and nothing. Great fishing spot on the Green River. Not good for low riding cars it all dirt road.

This was a very neat thing to see. When we got there, the geyser was erupting. We were there about 45 minutes and it was still going. Not sure how long it goes but it went non stop while we where there.

Our dogs had a blast running in the water and playing. Our youngest was fascinated by the river and kept trying to jump in. A must see when you’re in this part of the country.

We camped beside the geyser a few years ago. I'd been before and had never seen it do a real full eruption. But that night after dark, we heard it go off from our tent for at least 30 minutes--we fell asleep before it ended, so who knows how long it went on. It was pitch dark, so we couldn't see anything, but it was glorious falling asleep to that sound.

Also, this situation on the Green River is idyllic. Anyone who says it's just rocks and river...well, that's a sad person.

This visit was a bit disappointing as the geyser was not erupting. It is a well marked but gravel road to get to the geyser. It was very interesting seeing the site but don't expect the geyser to be erupting every time you visit.

We camped nearby and it was awesome! The geyser went off for hours and was marvelous to watch. The landscape is out of this world and the location is close to many other fun areas like Black Dragon canyon. I highly recommend.

Brug GPS: 38°56'11.6"N 110°08’01.9”W
