I should have went with my gut on renting a boat from this company. In a pinch I needed to rent a boat for the fourth of July weekend. I was surprised that they had four boats available.. Now I know why they have boats available on a holiday weekend. Tyler was very helpful in checking me out, however after we did all the paperwork he did not go thru any of the functions of the boat. I asked him about the previous damages and his reply was that they were recorded on the previous rental. He also told me that the last renter had a problem raising the outdrive and ruined the propellers. I called Tyler later and asked him after I got the boat to my house if it was going to be ok to tow a tube if the tow hook was damaged. Tyler said it would be ok to use. Boat was fueled before arriving to the lake. After arriving to bear lake and taking the boat cover off we noticed all of what we rented. There were several cracks in the fiberglass of the boat. I do understand reasonable wear and tear, however this was plain neglect of the owner. The cover to the shower was broken. Several screws missing, and not properly repaired.
The cover to the bow ladder was missing all of the screws, and neglected. When launching the boat, I as well as the others on my boat struggled to get the outdrive in the correct position. The switch on the throttle lever to adjust the trim is hooked up wrong. When you push the trim button down the outdrive raised up, this is wrong. After figuring out how to use the boat so we didn't waste our weekend of fun, we realized that none of the gauges worked properly. The boat seemed to run ok after the throttle was put into neutral and throttle was increased. Fuel gauge read empty even after previously fueling. While on the lake the ignition switch would not shut the boat off making it unsafe for loading passengers in the water. After several attempts to shut engine off, I opened the engine compartment and removed the coil wire to the distributor. This is completely unacceptable. While loading the boat the strap that pulled the boat up broke because it was dry rotted. I then put the boat covers on and several buttons were missing. The last day we decided to not take the boat out because we were having all of the issues. On the way to return the boat the boat cover that was dry rotted fell apart. I stopped to remove the cover and tie the hatch to the shower down. I returned the boat July 8 around 10:30 am. Tyler acted surprised at what I was telling him. I don't think that he believed me. I asked for a refund and I requested 40% be returned. Tyler told me that they would look into it and he would have the owner call me back. The owner called me back and started to acuse me of messing with the wires on his boat. I repeated myself several times and told him that I did not touch any of the wires on the outdrive. I also made it very clear on what wire I did remove and that was to get the boat to turn off. The owner told me if I was to remove that wire then it would have shocked me and killed me. Obviously he doesn't have the mechanical experience that I do. I assured him that I did nothing to his boat and then he just called me a lier. After talking with the owner I am convinced that all of these problems with this boat are known to the owner and the company. I believe they have the outdrive hooked up backwards so that they can charge you for the damages to the propeller. I also believe that they knew the gauges were faulty, and that is the reason Tyler told me to not worry about filling the boat up with fuel. I took before and after pictures and have several witness's to back up my story of what actually happened .In closing if there are any customers who feel they have had similar issues with this company please contact me. This will result in a class action. I will be pursuing this legally. I will be retaining Todd Weiler from Christensen Jensen to resolve these issues. I would never recommend anyone to this company. You are better off just not renting at all. They photocopied my credit card.

We were visiting family in Utah the week of the 4th of July and we thought it would be fun to rent an ATV for the day. Elevation rentals was the only place we could find that had available vehicles so we went with them and it seemed very cheap, about $300 for the entire day (too good to be true price and last minute availability should have been the first clue that something was off). We rented the vehicle on 7/2 and took perfect care of the vehicle, stayed on clearly defined trails, and did nothing that would in anyway harm the vehicle. We cleaned it off and returned it same day as we were told that it was being rented early the next day. The owner asked us to text him a pic of the vehicle when we dropped it off, which we did. When we did not hear anything the next day by late morning, we called to make sure everything was good. Actually we called several times as the guy was not answer his phone or texts. Finally he answered about 11am and told us he had not looked at it yet and would let us know. What?? Why did you have us drive back to the shop to drop it off late that night if it wasn't going to be rented until noon the next day. Maybe they have a good reason, whatever, so over a week goes by, we are back in AZ and we figure no news is good news right? Then we notice that he hasn't charged our card yet, we rented it 7/2 and now it is 7/8 so we call again. This is when he drops the bomb, we had damaged the vehicle and it is going to take over $400 to fix it. What?? Why wasn't this said when the damage was found? So luckily, my father in law is in the area and he is experienced with off roading vehicles, we tell the owner he is going to go look at it. He tells us it's rented out. We try again, rented out again. And again. Then on 7/11 we get a charge on our card for $700. It's now been rented 4 times since our one day rental (according to them) and after lots of requests and attempts to go there in person we get a super close up pic showing a couple scratches in the plastic (see below). Scam scam scam!!! Obviously we are going to dispute this charge but I wanted to make sure everyone knows the game these sad people play. I should have checked trip advisor first and I would have seen their one star rating and read the other reviews on google and Yelp with similar experiences.

Renter Beware. I am currently in a dispute with Byron, who at one point said he was the owner and then upon return he talks about getting in trouble with "his boss"? I think there are shady tactics being employed here.
Okay, so first of all, the boat we rented would not start on the boat ramp at Wahweap in Powell. If you have been there, you know it is a ways from town. So it took us nearly an entire day to pull the boat back up the ramp, disconnect the trailer, go get batteries, swap them out etc. We communicated over text and phone and it seemed we would be ok and Byron would make things right with us when we got back.
Well, we dropped off the boat at 9:30 PM (we informed Byron ahead of time) and no one was present to check us in. Well, I get a call the next day and he is claiming we made a small tear in the center front cushion. There was no such tear when we returned the boat. He initially says his seamstress person said it will be $350 to reupholster the entire cushion! Then an hour later magically the price is nearly half that at $187.72. We asked to contact his seamstress or see a quote. He refuses. We then contact a major awning upholstery business that tells us a tear like that would cost $60 to patch and would not even be able to tell it was a patch. He still holds firm that we must pay his arbitrary price. I guess we will see what happens with the dispute. I think they are not going to fix the tear that they say we did and just pocket more money from me.
