I'll say right up front that I don't recommend the Pumphouse. It's very expensive. It was $246 for two days for three of us. This is a fairly low end water park in the middle of nowhere (4 slides, a small surfing pool, hot tubs, lazy river and a few other nic-knacks), not Disney World! In addition, you're going to get nickel-and-dimed. Lockers are $9 a day (more on this later), food is expensive and bland (chicken nuggets, burgers, and Fries) or you can go to an upscale cart called, (this is really what it's called) Miso Hungry, and pay $40 for 3 bowls of Ramen. My beer was $10. I looked into staying at the lodge overnight but that was over $400 once all the taxes and fees were added, appropriate for Boston, not Jay. We ended up at a $100 a night Airbnb that was very nice. All in I spent around $600, including meals and accomodation..

For these reasons alone I would suggest you should go only if you limit yourself to 1 day and not stay overnight (it's not exciting enough for 2 days), then it might be worth it. However I had a strange experience that will ensure I never return. The $9 locker requires a $20 key deposit. Since we were staying for 2 days, I kept the locker key overnight. When I came in in the morning, I wanted to ensure that we still had the locker, so I asked and they said I could still use it but that I would not get my deposit back because I didn't return it at the end of the 1st day. I spoke to two seperate employees about this and got the same tune. When I mentioned that given those facts, I had no reason to return their key, they said they know. I suggested that this wasn't very safe for the next person because I would have a key to their locker, but they were not swayed. I am sure I am not the only key holder out there, so beware if you trust your belongings to them. When I told them I was planning on writing about my experience they said that was 'understandable' (that's a quote from the employee who kept my deposit). I've been to the water park in Queensbury, New York and I would recommend that one or Bromley Mountain as an alternative. Good luck!

Lazy river is close because of covid but people pass by you without masks and nobody cares about 6 feet while waiting for slides

Unless you're a complete covidiot, you'll probably feel slightly uncomfortable at the Jay Peak Pump House. This is an indoor waterpark, and while it runs at limited capacity, about 1/3 of the area is closed. This makes no sense: people end up packed in the remaining open pools, clearly not respecting social distancing rules, or waiting on line at the flowriding pool while the employee on his day off monopolizes the pool. Is there any good reason why the activity river, by far the largest pool of the park, is closed?

We have just spent 3 days at the Pump House. Everybody in our family (kids 8, 7 and 4) had a blast. The waterpark is small but fun. We will be back.

Kids were on vacation so we did a day trip as $300 a night for the hotel was not in the budget. The water park was okay. Never enough seating and the food is outrageously expensive. The biggest down fall are NO lights in the parking lot at night. My son and I went to get our car and I was nearly struck by a car. Not his fault as I was wearing black and there were NO lights.

This is a fun place to hang out any time of day or night. The staff is very friendly, helpful and provide excellent service. The food is really good. I love the maple old fashioned. Also they make a mean hot tottie! Every Tuesday they have trivia and it is very competitive. The bar is full of folks from Jay, employees of the mountain, skiers and lodgers. It is a lot of fun and very competitive. So if you can't handle the trash talk and very smart opponents, come and watch the show!

Never again, we spent 4 days there from Jan 1st to 5th, 2020 and the pool area was dirty every day and smelled of pee. The rooms were not clean when we got it we were supposed to get our room at5 we got it at 8:30 and it hadn’t been cleaned, the sheets had blood on them the bathroom sink had old toothpaste in it the room smelled bad too. The carpets weren’t vacuumed. And the only thing they said was well it’s our busy season. I give this place 0 thumbs up. I’ll never go back there

This place is huge and really well done. No question a great facility - lot of options, life guards everywhere, and something for everyone. For the hefty entry fees it would be great to have:
1. Real changing rooms (especially that some people want privacy) - toilet stalls really don’t cut it. You can’t put your stuff anywhere and let’s face it, it’s where people do their business. Look we’re not prudes but two tiny common changing areas with two tiny benches...very European (speaking as a European).
2. Working showers - we experienced broken shower knobs, lukewarm water with no pressure.

It's December and raining, so the skis are swapped for an afternoon at Jay Peak's waterpark, Pump House.

Be prepared to be greeted by a bunch of miserable people on reception. Of the group behind the counter, not a single smile or warm greeting. They all looked so fed up to be there. When you're paying over $40 per visit, there really should be a minimum level of customer service.

Reception failed to mention that you'll need to purchase a locker and also failed to mention that if you want to ride the surf zone machine you'll need to read and sign a disclaimer at their desk. Which means a lot of back and forth.

Changing rooms are frustratingly small. You'll be lucky to have a dry surface to place your belongings while changing. The facility to dry swim shorts had been removed, yet the sign remained. Frustrating.

The rings required for two of the slides and the lazy river are in short supply and there is no system to ensure fair disruption amongst patrons. I.e. no queue system!

The hot springs were switched off while we were sat in them with no explanation given.

A good place to go to escape the poor weather, but is in desperate need of TLC and better customer service management.

Two hours is probably all you'll need for a visit.

With the Jay Peak slopes not open yet, we headed for the resort's Pump House, an indoor water park.

Challenged by my son to ride La Chute, I decided to overcome my fear of heights. On the climb up, he informed me I would be enclosed in plastic while standing on a "floor" that would drop away, sending me almost straight down. Honestly, it was like being hung but without the rope. I was so pumped up at the end that I forgot to move away a safe distance, causing my son to stand above, waiting for the floor to drop, for a very long time.

Also a bit more than expected: the "lazy river" ride, which Jay Peak more accurately calls Big River. Half is gentle, but the other half really moves. The two-year-old held tightly in my arms loved it; we rode around three times. (Just be aware that the part you can't see easily has a kick to it.)

There's a toddler area, the Mill Pond Kids Play Area, which even my one-year-old granddaughter could do a few things in (with close supervision), and the Double Barrel Flowrider, which challenged my middle-aged son.

It took a while for them to open Big River that day (didn't seem to have enough lifeguards at first), and there weren't many rafts for the tube rides that required them.
