This was a wonderful tour. We had a party of 9 people. We all were happy to get a little history. The tour guide and captain answered our questions. We got very close to Riptides herd to get pictures. The captain tried to find dolphins for us to see. The tour was 2 hours long, just the right amount of time, especially if you have children. I would highly recommend this tour. Thank you for this amazing experience.

We had a great day the 3&6 year old grand daughters were entertained by dolphins and sting ray and ponies It was in the 90F range but breeze of ocean made 2hr tour comfortable . Guide and Capt Tom entertained everyone on boat and shared deep knowledge of area with area
Only saw ponies from a distance only because of low tide and heat of day
May Wild Bill Barnacle “rest in peace” He built a nice tour!

This was an enjoyable and memerable experience. Tom and Mary our hosts were extremely knowledgeable of the area, but mostly they made time and effort to ensure that we were able to see so many animals, birds, and sites. We had toured the island before, but this trip provided a completely different experience. Our trip was estimated to be 1 1/2 to 2 hours. We took the evening tour so they had the ability to extend the tour and they did. I could hear Tom on the radio getting pony sighting reports. We went completely around the islands and anchored within a few feet of a herd of ponys. We saw waterfowl of several species, sea rays, dolphins, eagles, beautiful beach homes, duck hunting blinds and cabins. Mary delivered exceptional details of the area and most of the sughts we viewed. Everyone should book this tour!!

We enjoyed our experience! We went with our 1.5 year old and had a good time. Enjoyed seeing the horses and wildlife! Informative, friendly, and pleasant captain/tour guides. Would book again!

Our 9am boat tour started out with fog and I was worried we wouldn't be able to see anything, but Captain Tom was able to get us to some areas where the ponies were and fog not so thick. Thankfully it burned off about half way through the tour. We were able to see several bands of ponies, and when we realized we were looking at Riptide's band Captain Tom spotted him several yards away behind some trees and bushes. He was able to get the boat into a better position so we could get some pictures of him. His wife was our tour guide and shared stories about the former village on Assateague as well as Chincoteague stories. Her village stories were helpful later that day when we saw the house we were renting in the Assateague Village display at the museum. Our house was one that was floated across the channel from Assateague to Chincoteague! We very much enjoyed our boat tour with Captain Tom and his wife, and highly recommend booking with Barnacle Bill's Wild Pony Boat Tours.

We booked and had confirmation for a sunset cruise and the Captain never showed leaving 8-10 people stranded who had already paid. Fortunate for us another company realized what happened and took us on his boat with no additional charges.

This was a BIG disappointment!!! We went on this tour to see the ponies. We did not see one single pony or dolphin - just birds (which we had seen all week on the island). This was the 3rd tour of the day. We should have been informed that it was highly likely we would not see the ponies. I picked this tour due to the positive reviews (out of 5 local companies). Bill, nor Tommy were our captains, therefore, no stories.

Most informative and helpful captain. Knows how to find the wildlife in the bay and marshes. Had a fantastic cruise! No problem rescheduling due to storms.

Tom was very informative during this tour. He took his time and explained a lot of the history of both islands. The tour was 2 hours long, and he has a bathroom on the boat! My two kids really enjoyed it. We saw other tours that didn’t last nearly as long and cost more money. There are many options for boat/pony tours, this one exceeded our expectations.

Wonderful and very educational! Bill was raised on the island and is very informative. Gave an amazing tour and catered toward the experience we were looking for. We saw everything from eagles, dolphins, sunsets, to lighthouse! Bill knew where to find everything! I highly recommend Barnacle Bill tour!

Are you open Thanksgiving week? Party of 2, one person on a walker, can't get up and down lawn chairs without your assistance, will need help getting in and off boat. Can you help with that?
