Me and my lady friend both went on the cruise, the staff was unfriendly, rude, and we couldn't bring a bottle of water on board with us. The only kind and friendly employee was the young deckhand, the captain wasn't friendly, the tour guide talked way to much and he was rude. The scenery was nice to look at, so never again for me and my friend.

Really enjoyed the tour. The boat ride was very relaxing. We were seated in the rear of the bottom deck and unable to clearly hear and understand the narrative. It would have been nice to better hear more about where we were and the history. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the trip.

I want to thank the nice staff that helped me enjoy the tour. I have mobility issues that have me in an electric wheelchair much of the time. Because of the steep ramps, my electric wheelchair wasn't practical. The crew helped us get me and off the boat. They were perfect. The cruise was boring at times but the navel port was incredibly interesting. The narrator was articulate and knowledgeable. The snack bar was good. Restrooms were available on the boat. Good overall experience.

My husband and I were staying at the adjacent Hilton when we discovered this cruise while walking along the marina. We went out inside to ask for some information about it for next time we were in town, and the attendant Tina was so nice! Instead of just giving us a brochure, she explained what was included and answered our questions. We left, walked a bit more and then decided to go back and see if there were any seats left for the cruise that was leaving within the hour. Of course it was sold out. We continued to enjoy the marina and as we were walking by to go back to the hotel, Tina sent a crew member to let us know there were some cancellations and seats were available! We purchased our tickets and got right on. The entire staff was courteous and professional. Overall a great experience!

This was a extremely disappointing experience. We bought our tickets online beforehand and recieved our confirmation but it didn't give any specifics regarding when we should arrive, what to bring, directions, or what to do when we got there. So we get there about 10 minutes early and are trying to figure out if we go straight to the boat or if we need to do something first when a man barks at us to hurry up, because we only have 5 minutes. From then on, it was one rude experience after another, like they really didn't want customers there. We make our way down to the boat where we are informed we need to go to the office to pick up our tickets. So we go back up to the office, they give us our tickets, and tell us we aren't allowed to take our water bottles or any food on the ship. I'd never heard of someone restricting water before, but we left our bottles on the counter as directed and went to the boat. By that time there were not enough seats for us together and we weren't allowed upstairs at all because of the children under 7. We sat in an empty space, told to move. We spent $20 on tiny snack bags and waters, when I told her I was using a card she said, "I guess you can, if you want to fill out all the paperwork. " and then "You can write your tip here, or don't, I don't care either way." We couldn't hear what the guide was saying (only people upstairs near him or those in the middle by the speakers can) so we split up to go upstairs and out front. From then it was a decent trip although we still couldn't really distinguish most of what was said. The one first mate that seemed to enjoy his job was a nice man with interesting information he'd share as he passed. The bathroom had *something* on the seat and smelled terrible, so we didn't use them. When we returned we ended up having to knock on the door and wait to get our stuff from the office. All in all just a disappointment. Would not recommend with kids under 7 especially.

Highly recommended. Seeing the Naval ships was awesome!! One disappointment - sitting downstairs it was very hard to hear the narrator- in fact it was impossible. They need to get a better sound system for the narration.

This was a great end to our vacation at Williamsburg! Mark was a great guide, very knowledgable about the area and history of all we were seeing. In spite of a brief rainstorm, in the middle of the trip, we had a great time. The staff was great about helping us to dry out. We would highly recommend!

My wife and I had a great time and we highly recommend this cruise. The crew were enjoyable and professional. We encountered a short rain storm while out and had to scramble below to dry out a bit. The members of the crew helped dry things off and made the interruption bearable. All the staff were great.

The good: Plenty of time out on the water, beautiful day, loved seeing the seabirds nesting at Fort Wool (bring binoculars!), the descriptions of all the navy vessels was interesting and informative. Kids 6 and under aren't allowed on the upper deck, but the bow is a nice spot to view everything from, so it wasn't a big deal.
The bad: You can't bring your own water bottles on board! I understand they want you to spend money at the snack bar, but not allowing you to bring your own water and not providing a water cooler or something? That seems unsafe on a hot summer day (we had elderly and young children in our group). A bottle of water is $2+, more than the soft drinks. The tour guide was WAY TOO LOUD on the lower deck - two speakers is overkill!! He also talked constantly, even when there was nothing to say. Definitely talked just to hear himself talk and it was grating. The snack bar still has old timey manual credit card machines with carbon paper. When was the last time you saw one of those? Time to upgrade to Square. I would love to hear more about birds and wildlife on the tour. One of the guides said that Fort Wool is home to nesting pelicans, but a quick search on the Virginia DWR website says that it's actually black skimmers, three species of gull, and four species of tern.

We were visiting Williamsburg for the first time and looking for other things to do in the area. The Miss Hampton Harbor Cruise was great! Our family of four very much enjoyed the tour. Jim was the guide and was very informative and easy to understand for this hard of hearing family :) Two and a half hours on the water was a perfect length of time. We loved seeing the Norfolk Naval Base from the water and learning about many of the ships in port. Highly recommend!

What time do it leave
Tuesday thru Saturday it leaves at 11, and returns at 2 pm. Sunday it leaves at 2 and is back at the dock at 5. Season ends November 10. And will start back up in April.

Day of cruise, you drive down to Settler Landing Road and park in the parking garage, then you'll see the boat there.

The tour was around or a little over 3 hours! Yes, we saw many carriers!! Well worth the tour!

They have burgers hot dogs salads wraps chips cookies etc. We had a hot dog and it was fine but our cruise returned at 5p so not sure if they change menu for " dinner". I think most tours are back by 5 or 6! Hope that helps!
