One of the old Bridges in Rishikesh. Since childhood, I have visited this place and these Jhulas.
Ram Jhula is an Iron suspension bridge connected to the waterway Ganga in Rishikesh. Ram Jhula interfaces Muni Ki Reti with Swargashram. Ram Jhula Pul (Bridge) has played a vital role in the development of Rishikesh Tourism and it attracts many visitors every day. The scaffold is a person on foot connect yet individuals likewise drive bicycles on it.
Ram Jhula is one of the two most visited tourist places in Rishikesh (another is Lakshman Jhula). The vast majority of the acclaimed ashrams are found near the Ram Jhula. Sivananda Ashram, Parmarth Niketan, Gita Bhawan, Swargashram, Omkarnanda, Yog Niketan, and numerous others are situated close to the Ram Jhula. Both ends of the extension have a little market with numerous kinds of shops.

Trip to Ram Jhula in Rishikesh was simply amazing, across the bridge lies another beautiful scenic spot known as 'Goa Beach' by locals with sandy area adjacent to the Ganga river, area is surprisingly clean and ideal spot for insta reels.

The Jhula is an iconic landmark and connects two important areas of Rishikesh. There are a number of important ashrams in this area. This also has good shops and eateries on both sides. A must visit.

Since the closure of Laxman Jhulla to vehicular traffic, this iconic suspension bridge has become a bustling thoroughfare for both pedestrians and bikers. At any given time, the bridge is adorned with a lively crowd, creating an energetic atmosphere. The view from the bridge, overlooking the majestic Ganga River and the captivating sight of rafting activities below, adds to its charm.
Approaching the Ramjhulla parking side, visitors are treated to a picturesque view of the Ganges. Toward the end of the bridge, on the left-hand side, lies Goa Beach, offering a serene escape along the riverbank. Crossing the Jhulla and continuing on the left, one encounters the road leading to Laxman Jhulla. On the right side, the area is adorned with renowned tourist destinations, predominantly ashrams such as Parmarth Niketan, Swargashram, and Sivanand. Notably, the famous Chotiwala restaurants are also situated on this side, providing a taste of local cuisine.
The allure of Ram Jhulla is further heightened during the evening when the entire structure is illuminated, casting a warm glow across the surroundings. This nightly transformation enhances the bridge's beauty, creating a captivating ambiance that draws visitors to witness the enchanting play of lights against the backdrop of the flowing Ganga River. Ram Jhulla stands not only as a functional crossing but also as a symbol of vibrancy and charm in the heart of Rishikesh.

Ram Jhula is an iron suspension bridge across the river Ganges, located 3 kilometres north-east from the town Rishikesh in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. - Wikipedia
Ram Jhula is a relatively old construction – 1986. The lights were out by the time we reached and that wasn’t nice. It actually had the swing feel so the name Jhula – swinging! It was swinging wildly and we actually had to turn back. Wanted to go to Gita Bhawan after crossing the bridge but couldn’t.

Does the ferry run in rain and thunderstorms?

Hello and thank you. I am staying near Laxman Jhule and need to visit the Swami Swatantranand Ashram in Chandrreshwar Nager daily. I would like to walk there is it is walkable. Googlemaps says it is 55 minutes. Is it walkable??
Skrevet 17. desember 2019
In morning you may walk, though I find the road near RamJhula is somewhat dangerous for walking - if you move one side to be safe from a passing vehicle you may suddenly negotiate a deep gorge type drop in the road flank which is too dangerous !.And as there are no pedestarian walks flanking the road my advise is to avoid walking and take some local transport like Auto as the auto wallah is familiar too with the town.

hi all.I am from kolkata. we want to go go haridwar, badrinath ,rishikesh..we are 2 adults .would like to on October or November from kolkata by train so please help to plan our trip in best convenient manner.we are planning 5-6 days trip
Skrevet 1. april 2017
Not so sure you can visit Badrinath, Kedarnath etc. in the winter months. I was speaking to a sadhu from the Mata Murti temple in Badrinath and he mentioned that the best times to visit is is May, June, and July. I do know they close the roads in and out in Winter. Not sure about October. Haridwar is quite close to Rishikesh and would recommend that you stay and spend more of your time in Rishikesh than Haridwar. Also, I was speaking to the rafting company I used and they also mentioned that during some of the months the Ganga is too high and unsafe to raft. You may wish to also look into this. You truly do not want to visit Rishikesh without rafting. Again, not exactly sure of the months that the Ganga becomes unsafe and they do not allow rafting but I think that is more during the summer months when the glacier melt is impacting it so October - November should be fine.
I cannot help you with your travel plans with respect to trains. Never used them. We flew into Dehra Dun airport and took a cab (about 30-45 min.) to Rishikesh. Then used a scooter or hiked to get around Rishikesh/Haridwar.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
