This is a great place to get out in the fresh and explore ponds, woodland and heathland. Well laid out with some marked walking trails and a nice cafe serving drinks and snacks.

The country park as in the trail walks and open woodlands were a lot bigger then expected.
At the entrance there are some small ponds, a bit further is a cafe with a small park and public toilets.
On the internet it states that the park ain’t open to 1000hrs, that is for the cafe but the whole park itself is open and no barrier at the entrance so you can arrive a lot earlier. Parking is also free.
Ideal place for picnics, walks, dog walkers, runners and bikes.
If you want a bit of a walk and don’t mind small inclines then from the car park you can walk past the cafe, round the ponds and up to the highest point to High Curley Hill Summit. It’s around 3k walk there and back and you finish at the cafe for refreshments after.

Did an hour walk today, starting at the Fitness Centre. Went up to High Curley ( ht 147 metres) with great long views. Carried on down towards the M3 and then to the ponds & back to the car. The section from the bridge over the M3 to the ponds was very muddy after a prolonged period of rain. Nevertheless a great place for walking with lots of trails. Very hilly in places : a good cardiovascular workout.

What looked like a ten minute queue turned out to be nothing like. Twenty minutes later only three in front had been served and there were still a half dozen to go. We left and went into Randalls in the village where we had lovely coffee and cakes, fast, served by happy, friendly girls. My wife told me after, the last time she went to the country park cafe she was served by probably the most miserable man she'd ever experienced in a service setting. I never got to see who was serving today but what's the betting it was him? Maybe time to move on. I've never given a one star review before but that's twenty minutes I'll never get back.

Although we have been visiting the area for years, we had never gone to this country park - shame on us!

Some lovely walks around the park, very dog friendly & a cafe for a nice cup of tea.

We only stopped here for a quick bit of lunch and a short walk with the dog - he loved it! We walked around the woods which was beautiful and round the ponds at the entrance to the park, we did not have time to explore further. It was peaceful, plenty of space, great for dogs and kids to explore, and a few geese, ducks and swans to look at. The only downside is that there is a height restriction of 2m to enter the car park, so high-topped vehicles need to park on the roadside and that is limited.

Lovely walk around Lightwater Country Park. We walked for a good hour and got quite muddy, but luckily we had spare shoes. Noticed a small park and a cafe but didn't go in. Would say it is very family friendly, with good choices of routes to walk. The only downside is that it is right by the M3 which makes it very noisy.

Had a lovely one hour walk round the lakes with the dog. We will return to do the hill. Due to the weather was a tad muddy.
Stopped in the cafe and delicious cakes and a much needed coffee. First visit but won't be our last. Free parking a bonus.

Went for a family walk here at Christmas - a little muddy but what’s a little mud, just adds to the fun, right?
Plenty of paths to walk on - make sure you make it to the top of the hill- on a clear day you can see right across to Canary Wharf!
There are duck ponds, a cafe and play area so something for everyone.
