Beautiful beach and not to crowded on a Friday morning. Easy to get to and lots of free parking. Get there at low tide so you can take the hike to where the rock formations are. It's a very relaxing beach!

First of all, be prepared to sweat and possibly get scratched and bruised. You will be climbing straight up and down at times and maneuvering sharp rocks and thorny vines.
However, the view and the beach is 100% worth the impending injuries! There is lots of shade, tide pools for viewing crabs, fish and urchin. The waves are too big to “swim” but we safely played on shore with no problems.
Don’t forget to bring water! We share a few beers but mostly drank water and lots of it. Sun rays are hot here, use sunscreen and reapply often.
Do this if you are athletic and enjoy!!

This was such a beautiful beach to go and visit. If you and you are friends are up for an adventure, then this is for you! To get to survival beach you have to do a little bit of a hike. I would say it took my friends and I about 30-40 mins. There is a sign at Surfer’s beach that points to the beginning of the Survival beach trail. A lot of reviews said to have good footwear. We had water shoes and sandals on and felt pretty safe. If you are about average at hiking, then this will be a breeze for you. Survival beach was so beautiful once we got to it! We sat along the shoreline and enjoyed birdwatching! There was about 5 other people on the beach while we were there. If you want to kickback and hang out with friends, then this is the perfect spot! Make sure to do you research on the trail before you go!

Difficult trail but definitely worth it. Wear sneakers for the hike. Starts tough, make it to the rocks and hang out. Recharge and finish the last leg to the beach, which rivals Flamenco. Explore the caves and boat wreck. Plan your trip for low tide and enjoy the geology and swimming holes. It reminded me of Playa de los Muertos in Cabo de Gata, Spain.

I’m just going to say what nobody else seems to be saying. The hike is brutal. And I’m an avid fitness, outdoorsy type. I’m not easily deterred from a challenge. But this hike was death defying. There’s no “real” defined path, so you just kind of follow your heart and hope for the best. The entire terrain is basically a tree root system that you’re climbing over or crawling under. Or jagged rock climbing that will land you in the emergency room with one misstep. All 4 of my family members were bleeding from somewhere by the end of the day.

After 40 minutes or so of this, you finally make it! The anticipation of sprawling white sandy beaches and sparkling blue water is finally here! And it’s…..fine. Pretty? Sure. The ocean bottom is also rocky and the waves will pummel you into jagged rocks if you’re not careful (just ask my 11 year old). It was no prettier than any other white sandy beach - I think the appeal is the treacherous hike means less people, so it is a quieter beach. But you can’t *really* enjoy it because you know that hell hike is waiting for you on the flippity flop.

Anyway, that’s all I have to say about that. Now please excuse me, I have to go ice my very angry knees.

This was, beyond a shadow of a doubt, our favorite trip. Pay attention to the reviews and wear shoes you can hike in. Be sure to leave early enough that the heat isn't an issue as some of the route is across rocks. Take water and snacks and sunscreen. You will need all three. The hike is 15-20 minutes. You will get to a place with rocks and small sections of beach. Stop and take some pictures, then look for the path that goes up through the rocks. Keep going until you reach the REAL beach. When you see it, you'll know. Watch out for sea urchins near the beach. They are small and everywhere. There are a couple sections of beach where you can go in barefoot and be fine. Just be aware. Be sure to conserve energy for the hike out.

Hike was one of the best I’ve been on. Combination of sharp rocks and hillside jungle. Lots of amazing views from several parts of the hike. Epic view of secluded beach towards the end of the hike. Well worth the effort.

Well worth the 15 minute hike! Wear sneakers or hiking sandals, as there are many rocks and tree roots, as well as inclines on the way. The beach itself has many stunning rock formations and big waves. Beautiful color of the water, shady spots as well as sun. The water is pretty rough for swimming, but there are some nice areas to sit in calmer water. Glad we took the hike and made it to this amazing beach!

I would highly recommend this hike. It was about 20 minutes through the woods. Lots of exposed roots and some climbing on rocks. I would recommend sneakers, hiking shoes or water shoes. I am a novice hiker and I didn't find it difficult, just a little tricky. You really need to pay attention to the ground so you don't trip or hit your head on a branch.
After you get through the woods and hit the beach you can continue quite a ways down the beach. You have to head back towards the woods a bit to go further, but you head right back down towards the beach.
Once you hit the beach it's really beautiful. Lots of rock formations to explore. I wouldn't say you should swim, the waves looked rough and there could be powerful under currents. However, there are plenty of places to wade in shallow calm water. We saw lots of people just sitting in the water enjoying the sun and peace.
We didn't wear our suits and wish we did. Also, bring plenty of water.
We were there in the afternoon. We passed plenty of hikers, but it did not feel crowded. I would highly recommend. Definitely not for children under maybe 9 or 10? Enjoy!
