Lovely part of Tasmania. Well worth the visit. Lots of places to stop along the Bay of Fires but we visited it at The Gardens. Accessibility good but be aware car park is small and this place is popular. Beautiful beach, turquoise water, and those fire-red rocks. Great spot for photographers.

Attended this area by shuttle bus, the scenery is pretty, the rocks with the orange lichen really stand out and the surrounding water is so pristine.
You basically need to be very careful taking pics, as you need to walk over the boulders in order to get the best shots. There is a viewing deck that is safer. Definitely worth a look.

We enjoyed walking through the Bay of Fires area. The scenery is stunning from white sandy beaches, granite boulders and aquamarine water. The changes are subtle under different light. The best part about the area is its tranquility and being away from crowds. Plenty to see and explore.

Nice area with good views but overrated in my opinion. Better beaches can be found elsewhere, the only thing special are the orange coloured rocks. Pretty far out of the way unless you're staying along the east coast.

Spectacular coast line. We drove to the southern end and found a quiet spot to pull over and take some piccies of the spectacular coastline. We also climbed on the rocks so we could see back in one of the bays and the water. Amazing! Originally bay of fires wasn't on our trip plan, but reading reviews and the recommendations, decided to add a few hours to the trip to see the area. I'm so glad we did and highly recommend people doing the same. Must see if visiting Tasmania - the whole coast line is a must see.

Head on up to The Gardens at the northern end, accessable by 2wd roadway to a car park, and you can get a great sense of the beauty of this area

A short 15 minute drive from St. Helens can be found one of the most unique coloured rock formations in the world, the renowned "Bay of Fires". The coastline around this bay is just spectacular and made more special by the brightly coloured orange boulders that line the shoreline. Well worth the visit if you are in this region of Tasmania.

Stunning coast line. We drove to the end of the road to The gardens where there are massive granite boulders covered with orange lichen, cute little coves of white sand and crystal clear seas

Incredibly gorgeous coastline. On a sunny day, the dazzling blue ocean and the fiery red rocks make such good photo ops. It can get very windy though.

Hi is it worth to make the trip down to visit the Bay of Fires? is there others places nearby for the visit? As we are traveling from Coles Bay to Launceston final destination. Thinking of going up all the way to Bay of Fires for lunch before going to Launceston. Just to know if it is worth the trip up .

Hi! Is there a specific/best viewing spot of the red rocks? We have a 10mth old baby so wondering if it will be easy enough to get a good view somewhere? The area looks big so bit confused. Thanks in advance :)

Hi Guys,
I am planning to travel to the bay of fires for only two nights over the new years period, We have only our 4wd and tent but were wondering what the likelihood of being able to get a tent site is at that time of year/how busy will it get?
Thanks so much for your help.

I am wondering about a single night accommodation for my husband and I at Bay of Fires after our stay at Coles Bay. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks, Beth

We are going to the bay of Fires in St Helens but can only be there for a couple of hours (golf interfering with nature!). Is that a stupid idea? I'd love to see it even driving to a lookout or two. Your input would be muchappreciated.
