I often take my grandchildren to the beach at Brackett's Landing. There are scuba divers to watch as well as the ferry coming and going. The tide pools and the sand offer endless entertainment. There are interesting items embedded the the concrete like sea shells, etc. And flowers to admire in the summer as well.

This is the larger of 2 parks along this section of Seattle's waterfront on to Puget Sound. It has a nice view and proximity to the ferry terminal.
There are picnic tables and also restrooms that were clean the day I visited.

Short paved walking area with views of the sound, ferries, Mount Baker (on a good day) and the Olympic Mountains. Parking is very limited, so we usually park further down and walk there. Lots of restaurants and shops are nearby. You can see some good sunsets from here. We enjoy bringing a book or a lunch and chilling for an hour or so as we live close by. Also you can continue to Brackett's South.

Brackett's Landing looks out on a Marine Sanctuary that offers divers a protected diving area. There are lots of underwater features that attract sea life.
Back on the surface the landing has beautiful views of the Sound, a jetty, place to sit and picnic and info boards about the marine sanctuary and the history of the landing.
Great spot on a pretty day.

This is a nice place to go for a walk on a nice day. Start a Saturday with a breakfast downtown, and then go to the Edmonds Street Fair. Top it off with a visit to the beach. The park has a rock jetty, a sandy beach and a sidewalk to walk on, but please leave your pets home. This is not a place where you would take your dog for a walk.
Parking can be limited, but if you are patient and just wait your turn, something will open up sooner than you think. Diver's use the parking lot for access to the water, and they are typically there for three hours at a time. There is a four-hour max time on monopolizing a parking space and most walkers and beach-goers are in & out in half that time.

Call it lucky. The sun came out as we walked north of the Edmonds ferry at low tide. The snow-capped Olympics peeked out in surprise as the ferry crossed the Sound.
Lots of families were strolling along the jetty and a few scuba divers were donning their elaborate gear for enjoying the underwater park.
But, the excitement happens when you get down and close on the sand. We walked a mile north between the shore and the rocky barrier of the train bed. Lots of open sandy space between large rocks for sure footing. Around a slight bend we forded a stream by leaping across rocks... always a thrill of youth returns after such an accomplishment.
We observed flocks of black brants, grebes, seagulls and crows, and sometimes seals and herons, but not today.
For a second or two when you stare at the waves coming in with the sun heating your cheeks, you almost feel like you’re in Hawaii— ok... not quite; but you’re really glad you just got out of the house.

This is a nice place to get some education and enjoy the ocean. Also watch the ferries and the train. There are lots of signs about the area (education). It's popular so there will likely be kids running around; not a quiet restful place but we still enjoyed just walking and enjoying the view. There are benches for sitting. There are restrooms. (I THINK we were at the North landing (to the right as facing the ferry terminal).

This is a fresh off the presses visit today to re-evaluate Brackett's Landing North. Their needs to be some land scape improvements next to one of the ADA parking spot north end nearest the driving round about section of the parking lot. Over time the wheat grass and other plants have over grown overt the ADA ramp. A good weed whacker & curb side trimmer need to be taken to that corner to trim/&whack it back.
Note: there are only two ADA parking spots, if this small lot is full I recommend driving down & checking out the Marina Park too as their over all lot is larger, note they only have three total ADA parking spots too.
On the actual waking & rolling wheel chair path bumpy & vibrating.
Kudo's to the improvements to the walking/rolling if in chairs round(view point vista) as the new paving job to smooth out the large cracks, big bumps and rolls have a great circle now for the mobility challenged. Note it's a bit of vibrating ride to get their but it's worth the trips end game for the vista view.
Dog owners get this park confused with the Marina Beach park that has the off leach section. That's much further south & I'm not talking Bracket Landing South sandy beachs as in a walk.
You actually need to get into your car to drive all the way past the Marina of boat storage & the two mini chained restaurants.
Over all this is a good vista park to watch the ferries come in & out, & the trains going by too.... if you like that kind of observations of transportations. Please don't park here if you are planning on using any of the public transportation. As your car will get towed, their are commuter lots near the train station.
This is a good place for diving as their is a underwater marine sanctuary here for ADA divers I recommend the close access here to the water. One of the best places Ive seen for that with out the long commute to the waters edge.

I could spend a whole afternoon here with my family. First of all, I love the beach, but this particular one has a little bit of something for everyone. You can watch the ferries come and go. For fun, walk on and take a 20 minute ride one-way. Once you get back to Edmonds, walk along the water from the ferry dock all the way to the park south of the ferry. There's a great playground there. My youngest spent hours playing here recently, as they changed the park structure and he loved the improvement. Stroll along the marina, check out the fishing dock. Low tide is awesome here! Our family once found a baby octopus so tiny it fit in our hand.
