The experience was ok. It was more expensive than it was worth. They charged us $5 to park after we paid high dollar to attend the event. That irritated me. I wouldn’t go again.

There is nothing terrible about the Sheraton Luau but there is also not much to say to recommend it. We've certainly been to better luaus on Maui, especially in nearby Lahaina.
If you are not staying at the Sheraton, you park in a high rise parking garage with no directions to luau site which is the other side of the hotel. We wandered all over the property for 15 minutes before getting some assistance.
Upon arrival you join a long line standing directly in the sun awaiting entrance. Bring sunglasses and hats. When you get about 100 people from entrance they pull you out of line for photos which they will then offer for sale to you along with a media stick which we never received.
Once inside you are taken to your tables. Not sure how many there are but its a lot and only the "priority" tables are anywhere near the stage. Four problems at least with the table set-up- (1) if anyone at a table between you and the stage stands which happens frequently your view will be blocked ( I had to proceed two tables forward and request a gentleman to sit down after he stood for the entire first performance and no one behind him saw any of it; (2) all tables are at the same level so the further back you are your views are difficult; (3) when they have the cliff divers perform unless you are at ocean beach tables everyone stands in front of you so you see none of that performance and (4) the tables are not wind protected and as a result two separate table guests had there plastic drink glasses blow over to soak the table and themselves (you must hold on to your glasses or you will have the same fate as the site is in a wind tunnel.
You must stand in line for your food and drinks. Skip the Mai-Tais and order shots. Food is so-so and the dessert tables unappealing.
Parts of the performances are great (the fire dancers for example). But unlike other luaus there is almost non-existent interaction with the audience.
They often sell out (over 500 people) which only further detracts from the ambiance.

My family and I recently attended the Maui Nui Luau in July. I have been to several luaus over the years and this was a solid show. I would not put it up there with being the best, but overall, the luau had a variety of performances. The stories told were compelling, the dancers were top notch, and the comedy was good to see and hear as well.
Food: The food was very good. The pork from the pig roast was excellent. They had other proteins as well: steak, chicken, and fish. There was a variety of side dishes to accommodate the pickiest eaters. Dessert was excellent as well. The upside down pineapple cake was delicious.
Venue: If you want to experience that sunset luau, the west side of Maui is the place to be unless you get far enough over to Wailea to see one as well. The tables were spaced out and the food line was well managed. The staff was very helpful and proficient.
Overall: There were six plus a 19 month old in our party, so we had to think about affordability compared to other luaus. I think the $200 was still expensive, but given other luaus were charging upwards of $250-300 per person, this was a good show for the cost.
Would I go again? I like to try new things, so I would probably choose another luau just to see something different. It would have nothing to do with this particular luau. If you've never been to a luau, this one is a good choice.

An amazing experience for my whole family! We anticipated a long wait as we entered the luau line but it moved fast and efficiently. Lots of food; pulled pork was the best and going back for thirds for the ube cheesecake is a must! The entertainment was informative and beautiful but the highlight of our evening was having my son chosen by one of the gorgeous dancers to dance with her on stage. Truly a once in a lifetime experience!

The luau did a great job with story telling and pre show entertainment. Master of ceremonies was very friendly and added extra flair to the night. Food was plentiful and delicious! Would recommend to anyone staying on the west side of Maui!

First luau experience. Only one water station for hundreds of people. Sweltering hot with no shade. I roamed the luau in search of water and drank blue punch. Entertainment and food was just ok. Not worth 200 and would not recommend. Could not wait for the event to be over and had to stop for food and drink on the way back to hotel.

Great luau! The view was awesome and the food was delicious. They have an open bar which is good however I’d order a drink from the bartender. They had signature drinks pre-made to avoid lines but the ice had melted in the evening sun so they taste very watery. However, ordering directly from the bartender provided us with fresh and flavorful drinks! Also, they validated parking!

I have been to this luau on 3 times. It was wonderful the previous times. However this time was way below expectations. We were were seated in the last table away from the stage. There were 8 tables staggered between us and the stage. We were the last table to be dismissed to go to the buffet line. Before we got to the buffet line the show started. We could not see that part of the show. Our buffet line was out of 4 of the food items. We asked if they could refill them and were told that there was nothing left to refill with. We were told to go to the other buffet line, which we did, and found they were out of items, also. I asked if there was someone to speak to and was told no one was available. During the show people kept standing and walking to refresh their drinks,( which was in the back, behind our table) therefore we could not see quite a bit of the show due to that reason also. There were plenty of desserts if that is someone's desire. I do not believe that this luau was not worth the $376 paid. The experience wasn"t even worth paying half that. When I did send a email to the luau company I was basically told "sorry, but take it up with tripadvisor".

$5 valet I was told when I called; but they did not ask for money when I arrived, so it's free for me.
It's a big resort, we had problem finding our way back to the front entrance; but if you use the public parking garage, just follow the crowd after the event.
Flower leis for everyone? Or just primary seating?

Yes flowers and handmade. The tables are round and I think they sit 10 per table. The tables are in rows. We were on the front and have to pay premium pricing. Great event. Also get the cliff diving.

Hi there, we're planning to visit Maui in July 2016, and would like to attend a luau, as we are staying in another resort and therefore would have to drive is there discounted parking available to us?

I believe parking for the luau is $5 only when booking the luau call them and they will tell you that and I believe you bring your parking ticket in to get stamped for the cheaper rate
