I have been coming to Joanna Vargas for close to 15 years now. I have been a loyal customer, getting facials every month and buying packages. I was always happy with my experience. The facials are wonderful, even if they are more expensive than other places.
I do not like the front desk experience anymore, or the cancellation policy. Today I called 5 minutes before my appointment to let them know that I was running late. I was desperately trying to find parking in midtown at 1 pm on a Tuesday. All of the lots were closed. I checked 3 lots near the salon and they were all filled up. I called back at 1:20 pm and said that I was not going to make my 1:15 pm appointment because I simply could not park anywhere! The girl at the front desk said that the policy was to charge for the entire session!!!! I have honestly never heard of such a thing! So I lost my $250 or plus dollars because I am trying to get to a salon that does not have parking? I have heard of retainer fees like $50 if you need to cancel. Even $100 would have been acceptable, but to lose the entire session is pretty terrible. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars at this salon.
Just a shame, because it's a great place, but there are no incentives for what you spend. Occasionally they give you a free LED light treatment, but for the amount of money you spend, it just seems like a rip off in the end. I don't care how high end you are. You have to give your customers something so they don't feel like they aren't appreciated and that they are being robbed.

Today I walked into Joanna Vargas for the first time, as I am from Australia and have heard incredible things about this renowned salon and WOW! I was blown away. The facilities are beautiful and I was greeted nicely by the front desk staff. I went in for the famous Triple crown facial with master esthetician Anastasia and it was amazing. Anastasia was so knowledgeable and passionate and made sure I knew the benefits of everything she was doing whilst also letting me relax and take a little nap. I am OBSESSED with the microcurrent part of the facial and saw results right away. I left the facial feeling relaxed, refreshed and my skin felt hydrated and plump. Couldn’t recommend this facial and the Joanna Vargas salon anymore! 5/5 service and results. I already booked into my follow up treatment to do the same again in 6 weeks as I was told several treatments will only help improve results and keep my skin looking youthful and tight! Can’t wait to be back! Thanks to the incredible Anastasia and the team at JV!!

I use a lot of Joanna’s skincare products so I was very exited to received a facial. I spent my summer in NY and my skin was so congested and dulled from the sun. My esthetician was Rachel Marino, she was amazing and so sweet. My skin now is extremely radiant to a point I don’t want to use make up. I can’t wait to comeback, the salon is so beautiful and the whole experience was ultra relaxing.

I just had the most incredible facial experience at Joanna Vargas Skin Care. From the moment I walked in, to the moment I was brought into the room by the lovely Anastasia (who honestly has the most relaxing voice and vibe ever!), I felt like I was being pampered (just how you want to feel when spending this kind of money). Anastasia explained everything she was doing the entire time with easy to understand explanations and a good dose of humor to go along with it. I’ll absolutely be coming back and asking for Anastasia who I just happened to be put with today as this was my first experience at JV.

I just finished getting the triple crown facial from Anastasia at Joanna Vargas Salon. My skin looks beautiful and 10 years younger than it did an hour ago when I walked in. Anastasia did an excellent job, explaining every process, had a wonderful touch, and answered all my questions regarding skin care and how often I should get a facial. I loved the oxygen therapy for the face at the end. I feel like a new woman. I highly recommend Anastasia and the Joanna Vargas Salon. This is a wonderful place and I definitely will be back!

This is in regards to unprofessional front desk clientele they have there...
Been hearing about JV for a while now so I finally get around to booking a basic facial.
I came in; checked in and waited ...... forver.
Therapist was 15 inutes late and a Male! I asked why no one told me i was seeing a male therapist like they do in massage clinics.
The guy pretended to be surprised that I was so uncomfortable having a male estatician— yeah right! Im sure jessica alba never had a male treating her skin w/o knowing!!
Im sorry just being half naked in a smock robe with a male stranger really ruined the experience for me.
I didnt think to ask if i was getting a female bc I’ve never had a male before. (very unprofessional).
I yelled at the front desk fir not telling me or asking if I had a preference. girls pretended to be sympathetic but it was irritating. The girl that booked my acctual appointment just sat there tight lipped thinking I didnt know she booked it.
Then when I walked out, I stepped in the elevator and turned around t see the girls laughing at me. My nose is a lil crooked so im sure they were talking about that too.
They should look at their big legs before poking fun!!

I just had the Triple Crown Facial and could not be happier! My esthetician was so sweet and worked absolute magic on my face. Her name is Anastasia and I highly recommend her! She will explain every step of the process and make you feel like a perfectly sculpted queen when you leave.

During a visit to NYC my skin was was a mess, sun damage and breakouts, after several weeks of intense travel.
Fortunately a close friend recommended that I reach out to Joanna Vargas Salon to try and book a facial with Anastasia, who she highly recommended. Anastasia was fully booked, however, the front desk was amazingly helpful and allowed me to be placed on the waiting list for a cancellation.
Lucky me, the stars aligned, and before I knew it Anastasia was breathing life back into my skin with her healing hands, reviewing my skincare routine with me, and walking me through each step of her work along the way. I am so thankful the timing worked out, as I walked out of the salon with a renewed glow, baby soft skin, and an incredible education for how to better protect my skin moving forward. Anastasia is an incredibly knowledgable aesthetician that brought humor and warmth to her magical, soothing treatment of my skin.
Joanna Vargas itself sets a perfect tone and environment for exceptional salon service. The space is beautifully lit, clean, sleek, and features a broad range of natural skincare offerings. I highly recommend booking with Anastasia in advance and will assuredly make JV my foremost skincare destination when visiting NYC

Make sure to book in advance so you have the opportunity to see Anastasia. She manages to make you feel so comfortable while educating you on the best way to care for your skin. I love that she works with my daily (or lack of) regiment rather than against it.
I made sure to pick up the exfoliant with volcanic ash and vitamin C cleanser that Anastasia used during the service. My skin is glowing :)
