Nice little bookstore with some vintage items including DVDs. I got a couple of books by a British author I've never heard of before. If you're ever in Philly, stop by this used bookstore.

I went in there today, Feb. 9, 2021. I found a few items, which were nice. I purchased two softcovers, one hardcover. None were specially-priced.
The woman at the register acted incredibly rude while I was shopping nearby.
First, she turned up the radio volume and starting singing, which normally doesn't bother me, but it was loud enough to be distracting.
Shopping time was already limited due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Then, she overcharged me by $1.00, plus the corresponding sales tax.
She didn't seem to notice, even though I asked for a receipt.
As she handed me the receipt, she took the time to tell me that they don't accept returns, yet she didn't take the opportunity to make sure she charged me the proper amount.
Since I bagged the books at the very end of the transaction, they were out in plain sight for a while.
I would like to point this out, because another time I visited (a while ago), the same cashier held on to a book I had just purchased.
I actually had to ask her to hand me the book.
I am beginning to sense a pattern here, and I don't get the impression that it's just sheer forgetfulness.
As I try to be pretty polite in general, I know that I cannot be blamed for the two very glaring customer service fails.
(BTW, did anyone else notice the Vatican City and Monaco flags are noticeably missing from Benjamin Franklin Parkway?).
That's Philly for you! 🙄
Will I shop there again? Possibly, as I don't visit often, they have some nice selections, and considering the location, the parking isn't terrible.
In the meantime, I hope they offer the staff some customer service and sensitivity training.
I miss Mayor Nutter. Philly was a much nicer place when he was in charge.

This is my favorite used bookstore in Philadelphia. It has a substantial collection, but you can see your way around. There are no great dusty bins on the floor --- which some people love --- but here you can cleanly shop before or after a visit to the Barns. The arrangements are clear and you can quickly and cheaply find what you desire.

Find hundreds of titles at bargain prices. Save money and support the Free Library. It's a win-win situation.

I enjoyed my visit to this lovely little used book store. We walked in and were greeted by a lazy cat sprawled on the floor (every used bookstore should have at least one, this one has two) as well as a friendly employee behind the counter. The prices here are all standardized, $2 for paperbacks and $3 for hardcovers, and there are tons of books on all kinds of topics and there is also a good-sized children’s section. A visit to the Book Corner was the perfect addition to our trip to the Barnes Foundation located directly next door.

Book Corner is one of those rare used book store gems where all paperbacks are a certain price, all hard covers are another. This is excellent when shopping for reference materials or mass produced books. (There is an entire section dedicated to fiction.) The place is large and welcoming, with two cats hanging out in the shop- one lying on the register desk. It's located across the street from the Barnes Foundation, next to the free library.
