This place has come a long way since the pandemic, though its patronage still hasn’t reached its full potential. I would encourage you not to be scared off by these somewhat outdated reviews. I’m a local and I come often. I have no financial stake, but I’m a big cheerleader for it.
On the weekend it’s pretty lively, and happy hour on weekdays, esp Thursday and Friday, most of the drinking establishments and restaurants are open. Lunchtime there are a lot of creatives working here so restaurants are lively but not packed. There are 6 buildings and 3 courtyards between 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6. Walking between buildings, you either cross a (very quiet, internal) road or you cross a courtyard. There is really cute outdoor seating in all courtyards and inside a few buildings. Lots of fun outdoor sculpture which delights kids and adults. Everyone can get what they want to eat but sit together. Umbrellas and tents to sit under. It even gets a bit of a water breeze. You can watch people making baked goods at Colson’s or just buy their amazing treats and espresso drinks. Same at Lilac chocolates - watch the action or just buy. 5/6 is where most of the drinking is. There are a couple of breweries and distilleries. There are also places to play games, some indoor, and outdoor they have Pétanque. In winter you can rent a s’mores kit and make them at the open fire pits. Japan village and Sahadi’s each contain an awesome ethnic market as well as places to sit and eat. There are events nearly every Friday and weekends, including with live music. There’s also lots of retail, a little pricey but very unique to look at. Some are high end home design chains. Don’t neglect the upstairs - there are people making bespoke shoes, jewelry, etc. Check the hours, menus, and events at each of the individual places, they all have web sites you can get to from google maps.
As for transit, it’s got 3 trains one block away at the 36th street station on 4th Ave. The N is express, the R and the D are local. Yes, NYC subways on weekend can be difficult because track work is being done. But that’s true everywhere you go here. If you’re coming from the Sunset Park ferry, it’s an easy 30 minute walk, 1-3 stops on the subway, or you can take the b37 bus. If you’re coming from the Red Hook ferry (maybe on a cruise ship) it’s a 45 minute walk. No need to drive. Tour buses, please schedule a stop! Locals, enjoy!

Went on a Tuesday - more than half of the boutique retail shops were closed (many of them still said "open" on the directory in each building.) Lots of great places to get a wine / beer but not a lot of salad / smoothie / teen-friendly choices if that's what you need. Cool atmosphere but definitely a feel of "this is where artists come to work" more than "this is where people come to buy artsy stuff."

The idea is nice - 5 old industry building renovated. food courts on the first floor. My main issue is that the 5 buildings are disconnected. There is a path through the middle of each building but (1) it is not marked clearly, and (2) you have to cross road between the buildings. Add the fact that there are no clear and large maps that show you were you are and what you can find in other buildings - and you get a failure in welcoming visitors. There are also very few restrooms and they are not marked clearly.

I visited this complex after a wander through the nearby Green-Wood Cemetery, to go to the li-Lac chocolate factory.
As I was walking through the complex, I overheard a delivery person remark to a loading dock employee how the area had changed tremendously over the past few years. For the better
I didn't have time to meander, unfortunately, but hope to return next trip. There were so many interesting shops and eateries, I wanted to come back and properly enjoy them.

Quiet, nice, artistic area. Spacious with few crowds, if any, at least around lunch time.
I would go elsewhere for food but for a place to catch up with others, work on a laptop, or simply explore, this place is great. Wish I had something like this near where I lived.

If you love drinking this is a must go place. The Japanese Village is more fun if you love anime, capsule machines and Japanese food.

Getting there by subway on the weekend turns a basic trip into a nightmare. Trains that go there don’t run or go elsewhere Saturday and Sunday. Avoid.

We loved how kid-friendly it was. It's a great place for the kids to run around and play outside, but the adults can still sit down and relax a bit. The fire pits are a great touch, too. Table 87 was great coal-fired CT-style pizza and the onigiri was so good from the Japanese Village. Shame about the crazy-long queues (we are talking 45 minutes) for the onigiri. Other than that, it was awesome.

Brooklyn NY Borough has some of the best Small Pizza and Italian food restaurants at Gino’s /Vesuvios/Pizza wagon establishments over 35 years of great Italian foods esp Pizza ..Enjoy

We explored all the buildings and establishments that were open to the public. Lots of interesting locally made items, lots of food, and a good walk.
My main objective was to visit the Japanese market, where I was able to buy the needed ingredients I was looking for and at good prices.

If I work under one of the tenant companies within Infustry City, is it possible to get discounted parking?

Also if you are a tenant you can go onto the Angus system to ask operations as well.

There is a TON of parking on site at IC all along 2nd Avenue. A lot of businesses validate parking, particularly the furniture Warehouses (outlets).
During the week the day rate is $18, and the hourly begins at $3 and scaling up from there with the first 15 mins free.
On the weekend, the day rate is $5 all day. All day.
