Small, dirty, mean, and overrun by teenagers - watch out for hidden charges.
This place was a major disappointment. It has two small pools, one kind of warm, one kind of cool; a small steam room; a small wet sauna; and a small dry sauna. All of these can get very crowded, often with aggressive, unattended teenagers. The night we were there, teenagers were holding a volleyball game, diving and playing chicken in the 3.6 foot pools despite posted warnings, making them unusual for anyone else.
The staff was hard to find, and when we did, they were generally short with us or outright rude or aggressive - what their site calls "Russian customer service." When I asked the woman at the front desk about the teenagers, she chastised me for "making her take their ball away." She later put a customer on speaker phone for us because she said the woman had an annoying voice. We showered before going into the pool but got yelled at for not using the showers directly next to the pool. I asked for a bathroom and a waitress pointed me to one, and an employee yelled at me for going in. My friend got yelled at by a janitor for accidentally walking through the soap scum that occasionally overflowed out of the the wet sauna's drain from the showers.
The facility generally feels dirty. In addition to the occasional puddles of dirty soap scum, the unfiltered water in the pools was teeming with debris.
Unlike some other banyas and bathhouses in the city, they don't provide shorts, robes, or sandles, and each item is an upcharge. Please be aware that they are charging concession stand prices for food. A bottle of Gerolsteiner water is $6. Anyone buying discount passes or Groupons to this location should know that prices are only cut by $15, not $30 as they claim, and a $16 mandatory surcharge is added at exit, so it ends up being more expensive.
This place is literally around the corner from my apartment, and I will not be returning.

Well where do I begin? This was a horrible place from just the entrance. We bought Groupon for this place and I regret it. It's a very busy commercial area with absolutely no parking, all around are just dirty streets and there are a lot of commercial trucks parked all around. When we entered, the host didn't know what to do and when I showed him the Groupon coupons that we brought, he started to call his boss. He was talking to her, but it was loud enough to hear her yelling that she will not accept two coupons. The host gave my wife the phone to talk to her and she kept calling my wife "woman" throughout their conversation even though my wife introduced herself. When I got the phone, she was screaming at me as well as she was screaming at my wife by saying if I understand the language she is speaking. She was yelling and refused to do anything or help with anything. Since we came from a bit far, we decided not to ruin a day with kids, we paid the fee and went upstairs. When my wife came into the female dressing room she had a pleasant surprise waiting for her there. She found a cat living there with everything that comes with it. She is allergic to cats and I am sure that she is not the only one!!! Nothing is working in the ladies dressing room, everything was broken and the showers barely had any water coming out from them. When we came down to the main floor, all the chairs and tables were so broken down that you can barely sit on them. The floor on the main floor was dirty with old piece of lime laying on the floor by the jacuzzi and nonetheless I found an open safety pin laying on the floor in one of the saunas!!!! We alerted the staff but nobody did anything. When we were leaving this "beautiful " place, host charged us extra administration fee. We asked what it was for, host explained that the owner implies if you are sitting at the table and ordering something then you must pay a fee of 8 dollars plus tax. This is absolutely wrong!!!! Unfortunately this is the first and the very last time that we went to this disgusting place!

This is a typical Russian bathhouse with a wet and dry sauna, a steam room, a jacuzzi, and a cold pool. There is a kitchen that offers food and drinks as well. I like to spend several hours here soaking and steaming. The facilities are clean and attractive. Be sure to bring flip flops, or you'll have to rent them from the bathhouse. Bathing suits are required, of course. Massage is offered, though you may need to call ahead to schedule. The entrance fee is $40. It can get busy on weekends, especially when families come with their children. This banya has been around for over 20 years. It's a great place to relax your body and mind.
